Well, it's all yours - you can max it out all the time.

Half a core, so 1 dedicated CPU thread?

It's actually half a thread. Sorry for the confusion, I should have been more specific in the posting - will add this information to the post.

    Some E3 @ 3.5Ghz is 4C/4T, while others are 4C/8T.

So, if E3 is 8 threads, you will guarantee us 50% of 1 thread which 218.75Mhz?

Just want to be clear what you're trying to sell here.

Okay, time for some in-depth explanation to clear things up.

The CPU is E3-1245 v2, which is 4C/8T, running at 3.5GHz. I honestly have no idea how you got the 218.75MHz figure.

We generally do 15x 2GB VPS per node, which means each VPS gets at least 1/2 thread + there's some headroom for additional stuff running on the node.

The CPU on each 2GB VPS is limited to 100% though, meaning as long as the node has free resources, you are able to burst to a full single thread. Should the node become fully loaded, we guarantee you are going to get at least 1/2 thread (or 50%).

This is essentially the same offering as BuyVM Slices.

In easier terms for the ones that don't really understand HYPER THREADING:
You got a single core cpu with "2 threads"/ht, and two are at 100%, each one one them will use half of your real core, that's all.
Getting a single thread on an ht cpu, means you MIGHT be able to use 100% of the actual core, at best, and never less than 50% (if the other thread is maxed as well)

I believe it's best to say
    1/2 Of a core
    Single thread

    or

    1vCpu

this way people won't freak out

hmm 1/2 thread, which is 1/4 native core guaranteed, but burst to a full thread/ half core is allowed if possible, no?

    Yes, exactly

    Sorry bad math. For some reason, I 3.5Ghz / 16 = 218.75Mhz instead of 3.5Ghz * 1/4 native core which is 875Mhz minimum guaranteed.
