What host is OneProvider reselling here?

edfoxedfox Member

So, I was (finally) gonna buy a dedicated server and I found this one from OneProvider:

Looks quite good, however I read that OneProvider mostly resells other providers, but I couldn't find equivalent or similar offers from OVH, Online.net and other french hosts.

Is this a OneProvider product? Or some custom stuff?

I don't think Hetzner or OVH or WorldStream or Online do. They own datacenters 'n stuff.

Nope, it's from Online.net (and you should learn how to use google ;)):

    Dedibox Limited 08161 Intel Xeon L3426 16 GB 2 x 2 TB 1 Gbit/sec

Some of the products OneProvider resells are servers that are no longer being sold by the company they are reselling from.

Plus L3426 is a pretty old CPU.

Ah sorry, i tried using "inurl:online.net l3426" but couldn't find much.

Yeah it's pretty old but i guess it should be fine for a simple webhost + postgresql and some light video encoding sometimes.

On a shady forum called "lowendtalk.com", sounds scary but it's actually quite nice there.

    Hint: site:lowendtalk.com "Xeon L3426"

Online.net but looks like old hardware, which does Online.net not longer offer.

If its France and 100Mbit, its most likely Kimsufi.

this, I still have one of those from the original offer directly with online.net, which was (and still is recurring) 15.99€ ... even came with HW raid and ECC. wouldn't buy anything from oneprovider anyway.

I contacted them prior to ordering and stated the usage of the server and they were fine. And even if I didn't, why would you think I would host bestiality on this server? I'm strongly against it

You wouldn't buy anything from OneProvider or just that one server?

Why? I'm still in time to not pay the invoice.

mainly because I don't like businesses who buy shoes tickets servers in bulk while on offer, just to resell them later with a not too small mark-up after the sale is gone or out of stock.

also from what I read their support does not know and they often have problems if the servers are in bad shape.

there was this 10€ cheap offer where servers got stuck during install and support was kind of clueless and so on https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/110478/sold-out-oneprovider-europe-i3-530-2x1000gb-raid-4gb-ram-1gbps-port-10-euros-a-month

TL;DR; I'd rather wait for a real deal from a provider and not a middleman.

PS: my online.net box is running very stable and decent so far, maybe as long as you don't have to deal with any issues you'll be happy ever after with that box?! dunno.

OneProvider resells from a lot of providers around the world. Online.net is just one of them.
