Meh, just price drop without new configurations.
Pardon me, but: you sick fuck. Price drop is amazing! Wondering did this price drop related with their inject of millions of euros.
If you stare into the deadpool, the deadpool stares back at you.
Everyone can do the price drop, so this isn't anything special. I would like to see new configs and network boost options for sys.
Good start. Hopefully more servers will be available soon
signature for rent - ^_^
No price drop on OP-SAT-1-32 or SYS-SAT-2-16?
Give us some example
We only support unsupported OS!
How about https://www.lowendtalk.com/categories/offers ?
which one
We only support unsupported OS!
Kinda strange how only a few months ago they increased their prices along all their product lines for "increased ddos protection costs" and now just a few months later have reduced the prices of their product lines starting with Kimsufi, and now SYS.

What?

Hmm, why 1231v3 is 10% more expensive than 1245v2? I think their powers are similar.
btw, good price.

I wonder if we bought one now...would we get the price drop on renewal?
E3-SAT-1-16 is still €32.

Probably not, it's OVH...
I don't think SYS will get network boost as it will compete with OVH brand, unless bandwidth standard on OVH gets upgraded to 1 Gbps.
Probably no, the actual product IDs are different from the current ones.
For example the current product ID of E5v3-SSD-1-32 is 1801sys242, the new one is 1804sys39 according to OVH API.
Prices for existing services won't be changed. The only way to avail the new prices would be to sign up for a new service and cancel the old one. This was confirmed by OVH reps in another thread.
Good thing SyS does not have setup fees presently.
OP-SAT-1-128 (2 x Opteron 4284) and OP-SAT-2-128 (2 x AMD Opteron 6128) are both same price. Isn't Opteron 6128 a worse processor? ( I think it used to be € 60. So it has a price increase)
So, we've reached to a point that even price drop is sneered upon.
In few years of time, I guess we, customers, need to be paid to use services.
Serenity now. It is coming.
The figures are quite competitive. OVH (SoYouStart) is to be congratulated, offers reliable services with pleasant prices.
I think this list of servers / prices is not definitive. Wait t'ill they update the site.

The price drop is welcome but the current ridiculously low prices at the Hetzner auction make everything else look opulent. All the SATA drives are also still 2TB, compared to 3TB at H auction.
I'd like to see some GPU servers. Hetzner's is out of stock again and OVH public cloud is way too expensive.
Anyone know if all the E3's have SSD ram?
@willie, Hetzner is in Europe only. OVH brands give us low pricing on another continent. Unless, I missed anyone else there ofc.
Yeah I use OVH for BHS since a lot of my visitors are in the US.
Benefit of OVH is that they tend to use enterprise grade drives, where hetzner tends to use consumer grade drives.
I assume you mean ECC and not SSD? :P
Yes, but you forgot that with SYS you can get up to 16 ipv4 for free (with a setup fee). This is something really tempting and some prices on SYS now, are really competitive with Hetzner servers. In any case, good for us to be such nice offers on dedis
• If a program actually fits in memory and has enough disk space, it is guaranteed to crash.
• If such a program has not crashed yet, it is waiting for a critical moment before it crashes.
Well, Hetzner sells 32gig, i7 or XEON for 21.85EUR + VAT.
SYS sells them for 27.99EUR + VAT.
The 16gig is a bit closer to the 19EUR from Hetzner.
Close but not close enough.
novaDedi, Dedicated comparison table, Dedis from 2.99€, 1TB Storage from 2.25€.
Sales slowed down. Increasing prices is a risky move when you compete mainly on price.

what Discord channel is that?
No, E3 can run on non-ECC do of ECCis not mentioned, to be on the safe side, one should assume it’s not provided.

SSD RAM is the new swap. Traditionally, HDD swap sucked. Now with SSD, we no longer need actual RAM!
Serenity now. It is coming.
Whenever I miss Dominic, I just find the most recent OVH thread and there he is, my sweetheart!

It looks like some of them have ECC and others don't.
The ones on the SYS site that use ECC will say it in the memory details. Old E3 v2's say "32GB DDR3 1333 MHz" but the E3 v3's say "32GB DDR3 ECC 1600 MHz" as an example.
Edit:
Missed this response before writing above. But yeah, same as Hetzner auction - will mention ECC, otherwise it's not.

Bastards.
Doesn't help me when I got an overspec'd machine for the price of the cheaper unit. Don't know if I'd save much letting it back into the wild, but would get more if I spend a couple extra bucks.. eh, guess I'm keeping it as-is for now.

Those prices have been up for a week at least now, so old news at best unfortunately. And from what I've heard, the setup fees might be making a return.
I'm personally happy with the current configs and prices at SYS. Just new v4 CPU/2018 deals would be good enough for me.
Edited out useless wall of text.
Don't get me wrong, lowering prices is a great thing. However, seeing the posts from the reps on this board, one could have gotten the impression that something bigger was happening.
If this is it, I can only blame myself for reading too much into it. However, I can't imagine needing 3 weeks to roll out price changes.
They are taking 3 weeks to roll out new 2018 offers. Most likely older OVH offers. They might even come with 500Mbps guaranteed as opposed to 250Mbps. There were some changes due to be announced this week, but that didn't happen from the looks of it.
hip hip.. horay!

It's Saturday mate - still plenty of time to go.
Wishful thinking expecting them to work on a weekend, but okay...
Finally, senpai noticed :^)
I hope they release them soon because I need a new SYS server but now I don't want to buy when I know they're just going to release lower priced ones =/ first world problems
Ooh, price drops on the ARM storage series, too! All available in either CA or FR, pricing excludes VAT:
ARM Cortex A9 ARMv7 1 GHz (2c/2t) - RAM 2GB DDR3
https://www.soyoustart.com/ie/server-storage/
I wonder if they have a rescue mode for those? Would love to boot into rescue and install another OS besides the ones they give for the ARM ones
Similar issue. I have a server with another company, along with a SYS server. I am trying to figure out which, in the end, is the better value. If SYS rolls out new prices and new features, they would likely edge out the other company but, given that the other server would expire in the next 3 days, I have some thinking to do.
are the arm cpu's fast enough to run rtorrent and seed linux isos over long long time?
The 6TB one should have been 13 EUR, not 14. At 14 it's not the best deal per TB in the lineup.
