of course it wont work The tutorial didnt include the iptables part.
@cosmicgate +1
This one is great
http://www.putdispenserhere.com/pptp-vpn-setup-guide-for-a-debian-openvz-vps/
still no iptables rule.
need snat or masquerade.
@cosmicgate I used this before it is 100% working
it is better to use snat on ovz.
This was really easy solution but, same error. I think problem is in my PC, I am using Win 7 with AVG antivirus and firewall
Any suggestions?
tcp 0 0 :ssh *: LISTEN
tcp 0 0 :1723 *: LISTEN
tcp6 0 0 [::]:ssh [::]:* LISTEN
Port is opened there.. so must be problem in PC settings? I disabled AVG too still same 868 error.. I am using ip address itself as hostname for vpn
Ok now I found strange things, I tried another pptp vpn and it worked with same settings I used for mine.
and if I use my vpn on my mobile with gprs connection then it also work...
So really cant think whats proble.. is it my pc or server?
cat /dev/ppp
do you get this
/dev/ppp: No such device or address
if not, then you need to ask the provider (or in your control panel) to enable the ppp and tun/tap
If the error message "868" is from your winy7 it could be either that your PC doesn't resolve the server address correct.
You say that you are using the IP as hostname, make sure you have no typos in the address ... like a colon instead of a dot.
You could also try to change the settings on the PPTP connection from auto to specific settings for your VPN server.
Make sure to move the following rule to the end of the input chain, if you have it in place:
iptables -D INPUT -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-host-prohibited
just run this script , take 5 minutes

Tested with bluevm 64mb but bluevm take much memory compare cloudshard
