Hello friends:

I have a question:

We are looking to provide the exclusive mail service for our customers.

I wanted to know if you recommend:

iredmail.
hmailserver
mailcow
mailenable
smartermail
zimbra

the requirements are these.

  • Opensource
  • panel admiistration
  • antivirus, anti spam

and something that I have not been able to find: a panel to see the emails sent and received

I've seen iredmail, knows of some option to implement an anti spam

and be able to see the entry and exit of the emails in your panel?

because they say that option is in the paid version

I've ran a mailcow server before. The min 2gb RAM requirement isn't a joke, ideally needs more! Can be reduced if you turn off rspamd/clamav (not that clamav ever caught anything).

The clients are institutions of our country, and small and medium enterprises

so I was looking for something robust and durable.

    Will mailcow work for this?

Nice interface, and easy to use - just don't run it on a 1gb RAM vps.

I've not tried iredmail/mailinabox yet so can't compare but mailcow did the job well.

  • We're using iredmail in production, it sees ~50,000 emails per day across 15 or so domains.

    Thanks

what would be the ideal hardware for sending that amount of mail per day

I've used Zimbra in the past and been pretty happy with it as an all in one solution.

  • Zimbra sucks. I switched from Zimbra to Mailcow and been pretty happy. I run 3 mailservers with Mailcow.

  • Zimbra is resource hungry, with zextras it is amazing thou

95% of our email is inbound rather than outbound. The server (right now) really isn't that great, we're actually getting ready to migrate to a newer machine because it is loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong overdue.

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 16gb ram sits about 0.50 on load.

Depends. What mail stack will you be running? Whats the average size of the emails?
    How many concurrent users etc?
