There is nothing about this is in the AUP. I can tell you this without even looking. It might somehow fall under illegal activity depending on laws and stuff but in the end noone cares as they can't see what your server is doing. So as long as there are no complaints you can practically do whatever you want.

I see, basically no one will care anything that doesn't have internet activities. But how them know if I have hardware failure etc? Or them will only know if I report and submit tickets to them?

The policy you're looking for is on the page below, in the document called Special Conditions for Kimsufi Servers (Article 7):

    https://kimsufi.com/en/termsofservice/

Thanks, I had read that just now and it is rather loose. But this is a bit strict

"7.4 For security reasons, OVH reserves the right to proceed with the immediate suspension without notice, of any server on which there is a public service Proxy, IRC, VPN or TOR which is available free of charge or for a fee, and for which OVH has knowledge of its fraudulent or illegal misuse."

I thought no one cares about VPN? Even LES VPS allowed that

They won't. You have to contact them.

The important word here is public. Public as in accessible by random people. They don't like public/open proxies as those are 100% guaranteed to attract abuse. They also limit it to situations where they have knowledge of 'fraudulent or illegal misuse' or in short it generated complaints.

Well, thats something i don't have an answer for :D

Well, since some people already ask, 200H/sec with the i5, 3 threads.

18$ on the current XMR price, and you pay 12.99 + VAT in EUR

13EUR are already 15$, so close to 0% profit.

If Bitcoin drops, it pulls XMR also down, and your margin is gone.

If you pay 8.99 or 10.99 for it, you still make a bit profit but otherwise just for mining, at 12.99 + VAT, no.

Also, keep in mind, you paying 9.99EUR Setup fee + VAT and XMR has 0.02 Transaction fee. Its even a loss in the first months.

so at 10 euro and 200H/s are you making a profit?

Looks like profit would be around €3 per month based on his numbers

Why do you think, an slow i5 with 3 threads calculating 200H/sec?

According to my calculation, that should be more like 60-80H/sec

  • i5-2310 with 4 Threads 95 H/sec

so ~50-60 H/sec with an i5-2300 (3 cores) should be right

    Bechmarks:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570S 179.2 H/s KS4C-CA
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 200.0 H/s Serwerydedykowane
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 185.0 H/s KS4C-FR
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2300 124.3 H/s KS4C-FR

    3 Threads on each.

If you end up with i5-2300 you wont make any profit at 12.99 if you get the i5-2400 you still make a bit profit.
When you are paying only 8.99 or 10.99 even better.

    https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/xmr?HashingPower=185&HashingUnit=H/s&PowerConsumption=0&CostPerkWh=0.12

I expected that people get the i5-2400.

Just cancelled my oneprovider c2750(13€) in anticipation of this. I just hope they don't sell in 2 minutes

Wouldn't it make more sense to first secure a replacement and then cancel?

  • Anyone knowk how I can create an account on the french website? It's only giving me the option to login!

For the US link I get "loading please wait" followed by nothing. For the other links it goes to "being restocked" after a while.

I don't even see the deals live on the US link. Any advice is appreciated.

Order some other server, you don't have to pay the invoice and the order will auto-cancel in 24H, but the account will get created for you, and you can use it during the sale.

Thanks, OVH FR doesn't show US as an address option in the country list; I doubt creating an account with the US site will work for this ....

No idea, even then, its the minimum, often you get a server with better specs.
