Leaseweb (60K+ servers) and Softlayer are probably the largest that advertise on WHT. Hetzner (85K+ servers) is the largest dedicated provider who posts on WHT although they don't advertise in the offers section there.

  • Softlayer/Limestoneworks < LSN recently has been growing immensely, But you know softlayer big big in the game especially after the take over from IBM. Say's it all reallu..

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeaseWeb yes.
Before they bought Netdirekt in 2010 they had around 35,000 servers at network with capacity of over 1.5 Tbps, now they are saying 3.0 Tbps.

Thanks for the flattering inclusion but we are small compared to the likes of ovh, etc.

  • Wholesale/DataShack entirely. Multiple datacenters in the Kansas City region. While there are much larger companies, WSI/DS is quite the large company as well.

  • Superb and HostGator are not small at all can be considered as dedicated server providers.

  • WireSix.com pretty sure they advertise there.

Of the datacenters you've listed, SoftLayer is probably the biggest. SoftLayer (recently acquired by IBM) is the sum of The Planet, EV1Servers and then some more. In 2011 they had 81,000 servers for more than 26,000 customers.

No there are tons bigger than us, we only have thousands of machines. Other companies have tens of thousands of machines or even hundreds of thousands of machines (but don't think any of those post on WHT). Our differentiator is our network, a lot of WHT companies are just reselling someone elses network and claim to have a "1,000gbit network" when in reality they have 10 or 20gig links into someone else's 1,000gbit network. We own and run our own 80gbit (IPT), 1,000gbit (internal) network.

    Yes, they are big.
Intergenia (serverloft, server4you, plusserver) has more than 40,000 servers.

  • Companies in the real world are compared by revenue, profit levels and growth per year. In Content provider world you can add the amount of servers (if you like) or far more important for Content politics: the traffic a network pushes, the last one being important for its cost base and possibilities to peer Privately and Publicly.

BGP.he.net in combination with AS number will give you insights on a network, amount of Ipv4 space and IP space growth.

Maybe more important is the peering DB:

    https://www.peeringdb.com

If you login with guest/guest you can see what peering managers see: private peering locations, traffic volumes and such.
    Happy hunting :)

  • Wholesales Internet WII look quite big for me, You can't justify BIG with LowEnd Dedicated Server Provider =)
