Hi!

Why does not anyone notice bugs in OVH? Nobody writes them or what? Or no one has hundreds of servers in OVH and does not notice?

Here's the critical bug: https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/serveurs-essential/

Canada:
Intel Xeon E3-1225v2 4c/4t 3,2GHz /3,6GHz 32Go DDR3 1333 MHz SoftRaid 2x2To SATA - 37 EUR!

But in France:
Intel Xeon E3-1225v2 4c/4t 3,2GHz /3,6GHz 32Go DDR3 1333 MHz SoftRaid 2x2To SATA - 47 EUR!

Why if I switch to the E3-SAT-2-32 1225v2 32GB RAM 2x2TB SATA tariff order: then I will get the server: Serveur E3-SAT-2-32 - E3-1245v2 - 32GB - HardRaid 2x2To: https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/commande/soYouStart.xml?reference=1801sys011
https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1801sys011.xml - write: Intel Xeon E3-1225v2 - SoftRaid 2x2To SATA / 47.00€ HT /mois

https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/commande/soYouStart-mobile.xml?reference=1801sys04
https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1801sys04.xml - write Intel Xeon E3-1245v2 - HardRaid 2x2To SATA / 37.00€ HT /mois

The situation is that the OVH employee on the salary has mixed the tariffs in some places.

Why is the same tariff differently prices? Where E3-SAT-2-32 Server - E3-1225v2 - 32GB - SoftRaid 2x2To in France for 37 EUR?

A lot of tickets were written. The OVH mailling lists were also written too.

I would drive with my company such employees who do not understand what they are selling.
And you can ask @olesovhcom put yourself in the user's place?

Not critical things:

Just example on KS now:

Ghost servers???

Why does the company need another thousand people if you can not fix mini problem for example the problem with IP transfer to SYS via the panel:

Or here for example, this error was noticed long ago by us.: http://travaux.ovh.net/?do=details&id=28247

Note: Currently, when a client orders a server on the Strasbourg site, it appears by default within the client area, SBG1, even if it is hosted on SBG2 or SBG4. This is a bug in the display and will be corrected very quickly in order to identify the actual datacenter on which the server is hosted.

They've just acquired a building that will soon house 100's of Indian developers. Let's how that will turn out LOL.

I am not an English native speaker, so anyone can tell me what is different between the term "tariff" and "fee"? Moreover, I think it should be "price" in the OP's post, right?

  • Seems that SYS offers is not recurring.

    Tariff: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/tariff

    Fee: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fee (definition #2)

In North America the word terriff isn't used a lot, might be used more in Europe. Basically a tax. A fee is just something you pay, maybe a one time charge to handle administrative work done by a company.

    Thanked by 1levnode
  • So recurring or not? Lol. There’s no where that officially says either

In western English the word terriff isn't used that much, might be used more in Europe. Basically a tax. A fee is just something you pay, maybe a one time charge to handle administrative work done by a company.

    Very easy to understand. Thanks.

That is the thing with a big company that grew too fast, dont have the procedures and responsibilities in place, a lot of enthusiasts and no care people mixed together with none knowing exactly what has to do and stepping on each other toes while other things get neglected. European management culture is more fit for small and medium enterprises, not for giants except if you have a German discipline or import US models.
    Management 101.

    Now:

    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1804sys011.xml - 1245 - CA - 47 EUR
    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1801sys011.xml - 1225 - FR - 47 EUR

    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1804sys04.xml - 1225 - CA - 37 EUR
    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1801sys04.xml - 1245 - FR - 37 EUR

    Must be:

    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1804sys011.xml - 1245 - CA - 47 EUR
    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1801sys011.xml - 1245 - FR - 47 EUR

    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1804sys04.xml - 1225 - CA - 37 EUR
    https://www.soyoustart.com/fr/offres/1801sys04.xml - 1225 - FR - 37 EUR

The employee made a mistake with the tariff code and did not include what was necessary and mixed them with places.

    This server is one with running servers: Intel Xeon E3-1225v2 4c / 4t 3.2GHz / 3.6GHz 32Go DDR3 1333 MHz SoftRaid 2x2To SATA

Why they, and not another data center?

    • No stupid monthly bills like Online.net (if they did both in OVH normally, they would easily sell their servers to everyone) and in Hetzner (European USSR payment method. And if there are 1,000 of them there, how to pay such an invoice? Limits in banks and so on. It is necessary to divide into dozens of accounts.).
    • Cheap servers.
    • Everything is automated, monitoring OVH.
    • It's easy to buy an IP for 2 euros per piece, bought on a server and you use the whole year. There was a disaster from the servers, no problem ordered a new one, IP moved, recovered from backup and work further.
    • If you need to connect the server to vrack it's easily done through the panel and stuff.
    • And dozens of small things that are important too.

Because no one can go for quality as they are in dedicated servers.
In the support almost do not write, I know everything ourselves.
If the server does not work just buy a new one.

If there are no analogues. Then let OVH become the best and here I want it, this topic I want to improve OVH. Monopoly will be for anyone and here in the future there will be those who will sell these monopolies in different countries, in different languages under different minced services.

if someone creates an analogue, I will gladly sell it on the Internet.
