Look at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1682953 this.

2x Dual Core Opteron 2220 (Medium) 4 Cores @ 2.8GHz

16GB DDR RAM

6x400GB SATA

$15.00/mo

That's a very nice 2TB if you put those disks in RAID5. Better than say Kimsufi single disk IMO. The two CPUs are roughly equal a Xeon X3320.

when costs like that appear mostly likely they are reseller or a new name of an old possible scam.

btw: right now no one beats kimsufi.

Not bad for $15/m but I don't see how they can cover the power cost. Those old Opterons are pretty per hungry.

It will be interesting when this old drive dies. The new one might not work with the controller.

  • Nope.

    Where's that @BlackFriday guy?

Them old drives powered on and working for a decade never die. I still have my first non-SH drive of 6 GB and it works.

Where are you generating all these BF sales for us :P? Are you up to the job this year?

This year is all about the shilling, last year the providers got rich and your Uncle Nekki got sweet FA, this year I want my share of the pie.

Nope, aff links are for the weak.

I am, of course, joking. I do what I do for the love.

  • Seems they're all sold out, shame, I was gonna get it for the hell of it.

  • Btw, i am not joking.

look at the server location (houston) and hardware

compare with what was stolen in google doc

Either way, brand new, domain registered a month ago or two, new forum accounts on a few places within 5 days, offering $10-30 dedicated servers.

  • i already said that in my very first post.

    it's prout.

I'm already 99.99% certain that's Prout as well. Twitter registered this month, site redirecting straight to WHMCS... and of course, it's geographically almost next to where his previous scams were.

Flagged this post for @Jarland to investigate as he'll definitely be able to confirm or deny it.

You would think that would set off alarm bells immediately...but I bet there will be some "SCAM!!!!" threads in the near future :).

thread removed, it was a scam, that would not even cover the power for 2 x opterons in the cheapest regions, never mind 4 spinning disks on top of it.

    Thanked by 1NanoG6
  • So, 12x250GB disks and 2 opterons wouldn't be profitable for $25? What is that "power" you keep blabbing about?

One either knows about "the power" or one doesn't. We have talked too much of it already. This is getting dangerous.

Everyone beats kimsufi, specially because they don't offer additional IPs
