Looking for a VIP VPN service

I am looking for a reliable VPN provider.

Purpose: mail reading (some gmail or similar), forum accounts. (will not be used for torrents or any illegal activity you might think of)

Requirements: static IPs (for each identity if possible) or at least location (city) should be the same. Various locations needed around the world.

The idea is, that service should look like a home/business user service as much as possible. Not like when you do a whois and see straight that it's Vultr or DO.

Service is needed long term, I need about 20 "identities" (uniq looking users + more in the near future).

  • Nord VPN, VPN Unlimitedapp and Vypr VPN may be worth checking out.

    Vypr logs

Any VPN service that does atleast technical logs (limited bw, user login/logoff, concurrent device limit and others) does log to some extent. Your connection is still being encrypted and so is your traffic. As long as you dont do child porn or something else you wont get in trouble. If you do copyright infringement or anything similar they may be able to track you down as a post on reddit suggested but they only terminate your account not. They never handed over any actual customer data (afaik). I am personally using NordVPN, VPN Unlimited App and Ivacy though.

There are only a few which strictly dont log anything (and thus dont imply any limits). The most reputable would be perfect privacy and Zoro VPN.

  • ProtonVPN are a zero logging outfit, aren't they?

They claimed to be, full privacy according to the Swiss laws,,,,,,, time will tell.

Why would you doubt them if having no logs is a legal requirement of the jurisdiction in which they operate?

I get skeptism the other way round, that doesn’t make sense.

What is your goal here? You are aware about other tracking methods (Browser fingerprinting, ultrasound tracking, user behaviour, forensic linguistics, ...)?

Well. Having no logs isn't a legal requirement.

    https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classified-compilation/19995395/index.html#a13

That mentions nothing specific about a non logging policy about VPNs at all.

And remember, there is both BÜPF (https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classified-compilation/20002162/index.html) and the NDG (https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classified-compilation/20120872/index.html).

Poor wording on my part. To rephrase, why would they collect logs if there is no legal requirement for them to do so?

If your links address that point great, but I can't read them as I am a philistine who can only read English and enough Japanese to understand hentai manga.

That's not entirely correct, given this and this. Sadly there are no official English translations, only German, French and Italian are available. The more relevant point is imho RS 780.1, Art.15§3, which pretty easily imposes a blanket six-months data retention on any ISP. While it's arguable that only customer's data and general traffic stats are retained until the "surveillance service" knocks at the ISP door, I would generally never consider any "no log" policy seriously. The link proposed by @plueschopath just points out to the Swiss Constitution (there's an English translation available if you look on the top right corner) where obviously is stated that privacy is generally preserved.

EDIT: I just noticed that @plueschopath did add the links to my first two resources on the bottom of that post

  • We will take care of fingerprints on our side :-)

  • Speaking about logs. As I already said, the whole thing isn't related to any illegal activities, so a little technical logging doesn't bother us.

  • I highly recommend PIA (PrivateInternetAccess), I proxy my entire connection through them and it's brilliant. Check StackSocial, they have a good 2 year deal on for $59.99 I think.

  • Cheap VPS, run the VPN install scripts off of Github.
