Seems spectrocoin has been hacked, just got this email right now, more about:

Dear client,

We are contacting you because we have learned that a system breach might have happened on one of our provider's servers. The investigation is still in progress and, due to security reasons, details cannot be disclosed at the moment.

The 3rd party issue which might have caused this is already patched. Advanced security measures were taken to minimize or eliminate any potential harm of potentially exposed data. We are closely monitoring all potentially exposed data in order to ensure that our customers are protected.

The potentially breached data includes some user account information, but we can assure you that your funds and sensitive information, like card credentials and/or your personal documents, are safe. Soclal media logins are also not affected.

TO-DO

Even though your password information has not been affected (they are salted and hashed) we still strongly encourage all customers to take preventive measures and change your account password. As a general policy, you need to use strong unique credentials and rotate them frequently.
If you were using Google Authenticator as a second-factor authentication option, we have reset it to email. It can be configured again.
We have reset your Secret questions. They can be configured again.

We recognize that security risks are rapidly and constantly evolving and we are committed to advancing our security even more. We also believe that it is better to take precautions and frequently change passwords in order to minimize any potential risks.

We are deeply sorry for any issues caused.

Spectro-what, is this a covert marketing campaign? Or why do you assume everyone uses the same shit as you?

We are not using it, tried as btc merchant long ago. But there might be someone maybe who use it, if you don't use it, then you don't need to write anything. I just posted it because i thought it will help someone.

    Cheers.

  • How come they need to reset everybodies 2FA? This sounds sketchy. They've reset Secret Questions, Answers & 2fa but haven't reset passwords as a 'precautionary' measure? This leads me to think that they're not hashing secret question answers, which, is an issue in itself. I hate to sound cynical, but how are they monitoring the exposed data? Are they simply watching accounts that they believe to have been copied out to catch any suspicious activity or do they have magical trackers on their data? :)
