A questions on KVM VPS

1.How do you guys install Windows on a KVM VPS ? Can we do this on our own or we have to ask to support team of the VPS provide to do it ?

  1. Do we have to make sure the provide allows us to install windows ?

3.why cant windows be installed on a OpenVZ VPS ?

    In some cases you can link your own iso, in most others you can only use the iso fromt he provider. Therefore you can either use linux to copy the files and boot sector for windows and then continue the install from there or you have to ask the provider for an iso.

    If the provider does not allow it, then we dont have this conversation, installing it against the ToS means you will be kicked.

    Windows can be installed on OVZ in an emulator of some kind, however, it is not supported and usually not usable, especially on low end OVZ plans. The load will probably be too high, even in the unlikely case the provider agrees with it.

  • As long as you have a valid Windows license, and order a KVM VPS it should be A-OK, at least with me.
