Best advice ever ^. Get a slice from Buyvm https://buyvm.net/kvm-dedicated-server-slices

If your budget is up to $30/month, then why not just get a Linode or Vultr? Able to get a proper IPv6 /64 on both as well, unlike on all those little dumb providers who try to sell you NL OpenVZ in a thread about US/UK/SG KVM.

    Thanked by 2sibaper Aidan
  • Actually I don't really need IPv6, that's why I said optional.

I've too many server on Linode, I don't want put everything on one provider though

  • Any specific reason you would rather run your MTA from a KVM than pay for, say, MXRoute or MailCheap? Their plans are quite comparable in cost for your needs, and you don't need to spend time on keeping the IP space clean, MTA and Dovecot up to date, et al..

company policy, can't do anything about that and wont argue about that

  • Ah. Well, KVMs are more secure than OVZ, at least.. but still as fragile. :/

maybe docker has problems running on some OVZ hosts

  • Veeble will be your best option! They can accommodate custom plan for you!

why are you spamming this thread?

marrco said: maybe docker has problems running on some OVZ hosts

depend on use case, for this one I don't need docker

  • Indeed, Docker can not run on OpenVZ, but then again... who needs Docker anyway? An MTA can run on any VPS without Docker; not to mention there are open source software scripts ready for use without Docker (MailCow standard, and such [search LET forums]).

Hell, you don't even need a KVM, an OpenVZ can get the job done easy. Size depends on the load of the mail server.
