What do you think of the 'top' of these VPSs?

Using these top command results, is there any advise you can give about the VPSs I use? For instance which of them seems 'poor', bad, good etc - I know not much can be said from only 'top' results, but I am interested in whatever LET users have to say about these.

**VPSs all from different providers. I have Virtualmin running on all of them.

2 users logged in on the second one. Interesting.

  • It got my notice too :) But I had two separate terminal sessions open then.

load on the second VPS is slightly higher than other VPS.

Kill or restart one of tasks, as you don't need to keep zombies.

More context is needed to answer your question.

    For example:

    • What were there servers doing at the time you took the reading?
    • Are the readings typical for those servers?
    • Are the servers all running an identical OS/software combination?
    • Are the wordpress installs identical and using the same plugins

EDIT: and yes, are the servers all the same specification, down to the cores and the type of storage?

Would'nt that depend on the amount of cores on the host node?

it's depends on the amount of cores, check the CPU % per tasks

  • Sorry I didn't spell out a lot of the specifics.

VPS1 & VPS2 have live Wordpress sites running

Yes, the servers run identical OS (Ubuntu 16) except VPS4 which runs Ubuntu14

The readings are roughly typical, but VPS2 shoots much higher than that sometimes (it has a 10GB-sized MySQL DB)

I think these are all HDD or maybe SSD-cached servers. Am sure they are non full-SSD

    VPS1 and VPS3 are Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz, 4 cores

    VPS 2 is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v2 @ 2.10GHz, 4 cores

    VPS 3 is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz, 4 cores
