Here's the links for people on other OVH sites:

    US: https://www.ovh.com/us/vps/#ssd-discover
    IE: https://www.ovh.ie/vps/#ssd-discover
    UK: https://www.ovh.co.uk/vps/#ssd-discover

Can't wait to check out the Sydney VPS-SSD when they're released as well :)

  • Hmm comes with a 3.5ghz core instead of the usual 2.4, less 1GB RAM, but 3x the storage than the $3.49 VPS.

Looks good, but isnt vultr doing the same pricing for the similar specs?

Same pricing with Linode too. At least this VPS has anti-DDoS Pro :)

Yeah the ddos protection is a plus over other providers such as linode or vultr, vultr does have ddos protection but I believe it's not available in all locations such as Sinapore or Sydney, AU

DDoS protection makes all the difference for me. I can easily overwhelm the connection on a VPS to make it null-route, and so can many others

  • okay ladies and gentleman wait for benchmark

For OVH, the network is 100Mbps(and possibly worse.) The advantages are slightly larger disk, anti-DDoS, and cheaper additional IPs
Though, this is discovery special offer. Don't know what the offer would be like afterwards.

Before putting this into production, try enabling the permanent mitigation or firewall, and ensure you don't get routed through Canada for those.

  • OVH SG using 139.99.0.0/17

For anyone tested this: please test if this is not the case.

  • 3.5GHz is also nice compared to the highest we can get in places like BHS which is just 3.1 on OVH VPS Cloud

    Are they using E3's?

139.99.104.20 => VPS in SG under perm mitigation + firewall

    Test it for yourself. ;)

    Thats..... pretty good!

  • Remember that you are all ordering and benching those VPS at the same time... I would recommend you to wait few hours and re-run your favorite benchmark ;)

Oh by the way, if you have a VPS-SSD in another DC, try to run some test from the Phoronix Test Suite and compare the results ;) On some test, the perf is 50 or 100% better :)

I can't wait to read your feedbacks.

    Thanked by 1vimalware
  • I'll run another one few day later, I only need to use these VPS as VPN and gogs. Speed above more that enough for my usage

    No, no custom ISO.

Raid0 or something that actually protects against single disk failure?
