Looking for cheap 4GB RAM, Quad-core CPU VPS

I'm looking for a cheap VPS ($5 - $7 monthly) which supports the following:

Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit OS
4 GB of memory with swap enabled (8 GB of memory is better)
Quad-core 2.6 GHZ CPU (or faster)
TCP ports 80, 443 and 1935 are accessible
TCP port 7443 and 5066 are accessible
UDP ports 16384 - 32768 are accessible
Port 80 is not in use by another application

50GB of HDD space is preferable, but more obviously is better.

PayPal payment support is a must as it is my preferred payment method.

Comments

  • KVM, openvz? From the "swap enabled" I guess openvz?

  • NorradNorrad Member

openvz would be preferable, but not essential.

    What location?

What application would be running on that server?

  • NorradNorrad Member

Any location, but Eastern US seaboard is preferable. I would want to host a BigBlueButton installation to work with individual students. :-)

  • Does it need ubuntu 16.04? @cociu has a special (still) running for 4core, 4gb ram 400gb hdd at 20€/semiannualy. Only Ubuntu 14.04 lts though. (or debian 7, centos 6)

Just the first thing to come to mind.

  • NorradNorrad Member

BigBlueButton only runs on Ubuntu 16.04 :-(

Take a look at ImpactVPS, 50% off is still valid.

  • @AnthonySmith has something comparable

@virmach has the 8gb instance which you can use the "leb30" coupon on for 7$/month pricing.

    @MSPNick has a 4gb/4core instance for 5,60 /m.

The dude with the terrible name aka @exception0x876 might also be able to do something in Canada.

    Probably forgetting some providers.

I assume you need 4 shared cores? If that's the case, take a look at us - https://alphavps.bg

We have NY, which should fit your location requirements.

    4GB RAM @ 5EUR per month.

As per your requirement to get VPS Hosting at $5 to $7 is quite tough but if you increase your budget little then you can for Hosting24 for VPS hosting. In Hosting 24 the plan starts from $10.78/mon. And with the increase in price the features will also increase. But for a cheaper option, you may find Hosting24 coupons.

Why do you charge $9 to install a free game panel?

Edit: why do you charge $18 for cPanel, when BuycPanel charges $14.95?

  • imokimok Member

This guy @harold is just interested in recommending the worst and expensive providers.

Why do you keep spamming your shitty offer for your shitty host in every single possible thread?

Half the cores, several thousand km away from preferred location, cores not even meeting the minimum clock, ...

Please read your signature and behave like that.

  • So unprofessional. @hzr is not representing Microsoft in any way in this forum, but @OBHost, you are representing your brand. With this unprofessional behaviour, I'll never buy from your brand and also advise my friends against it.

He keeps quoting your comments because you're posting shit offers that dont even match the required specs, making us think you do not know how to read.

The fact that I have to explain this again (as the post you quoted also explains this quite well) makes me think that this (the not-being-able-to-read part) is indeed the case.

  • @teamacc I'd use the word "illiterate," but he probably wouldn't know what I'm saying. haha

  • Thanks guys. I went with ImpactVPS and I'm very happy so far with the performance. Quickly installed a test version of BBB and it works great.
