what is the difference between combahton and voxility?

  • ChristianDSHChristianDSH Member, Host Rep

@hzr Voxility is a very common ddos protection nowadays, many providers use it, but the voxility uplink is routed over the datacenter, so customers from asia could have problems to connect to a voxility protected ip address (yes, the datacenter is blocking certain ip ranges in asia)

Combahton is another ddos solution where we're always in touch with the developer, and also have faster reaction times for filtering adjustments. Also it's not routed over the datacenter voxility - uplink, it's routed over a different route which gives you a little lower ping and no problems if youre living in asia.

Combahton is also good if it comes to layer 7 attacks, currently most game servers are running with Combahton on our network with little to none problem during attacks.

You can check the routing with those two ip addresses:

    Combahton: 5.1.81.9

    Voxility: 134.255.221.43

Here are some ping measures (hope it's allowed):

Moscow, Russia: 37.4 ms Saint Petersburg, Russia: 39.6 ms Mailand, Italy: 26.6 ms Meppel, Netherlands: 8.5 ms Paris, France: 8.6 ms Montreal, Canada: 88.1 ms New York, USA: 83.5 ms Los Angeles, USA: 150.0 ms
