    vultr.com is safe.

It's as safe as it usually gets. Meaning: they won't run off with your CC details to buy a Happy Meal with it, but they can lose your information like everyone else can. Including some of the biggest enterprises in the past.

Which is why there's a chargeback system in place to protect the Customer should the card details leak :)

Wait, what?! Isn't chargebacks are exclusively for times when you buy a vps and then 3 months later it's connectivity to China mainland is not as good as you thought it will be? And you know... chargeback!

You dont have to link your credit card directly to their system. But vultr need a verified paypal account as payment method, and it seems like you havent verifying your paypal account yet. or may be you are trying to use a paypal account for 2 different vultr account. (am I right?)

You can't use the same payment method twice for different account, that's why you're being redirected to use CC. Read the error message that you get or just contact their billing support.

  • Thank you guys for help

So it appears they do this, you need a valid credit/debit card matching the address you put in when you signed up, so Vultr is like you live on 123 main street chicago 60601, okay, hey your bank what address does he live on? oh he lives on 123 main street 60601, okay account approved

and then you can proceed to use paypal for all future payments. Scaleway does this as well

This is also why prepaid debit visa gift cards you buy at the store won't work for some purchases when the retailer also asks for a "billing address"

Probably not, but then again they do have my credit card since I'm using them. Nothing is 100% safe to use, not even condoms are.

Dude Linode has been doing business since you started attending kindergarten. They are not a fraud at all. They used to be all high on their horses never wanting to come down from their pedestal they were on before, but once DigitalOcean came things started to change drastically.

Digital Ocean > Linode > Vultr

Digital Ocean has a greater customer base and better services, their panel is really easy to use, none of this choose image, boot image, turn on multiple steps Linode have you do to use a VPS for the first time..

However, I'm not currently with Digital Ocean , because I need a 2gb vps for my discourse forum, and I rather pay $10 bucks than $20 dollars with Digital Ocean. I'm using at the moment the $20 dollars extra credit you get once you deposit your initial $5 dollars into their service.

Now a days, I consider DigitalOcean 512mb per $5 dollars the standard low base specs for that price range. If a LET host is offering less than that, or even close to 512mb per $5 dollars, I won't even consider them, since I can just use DigitalOcean for that. So I come to LET to get those $3-6 dollars per 1GB vps kind of deals.

@Joseph7811 what kind of stuff are you planning to run on their VPS?

Look for 'https' before url for the web page on which you require to enter credit card details. And if that web page already has 'https' then it is safe to enter confidential information. Not only vultr but while entering any information specially private information then always look for 'https'.

Please do not just look at https and green bar. Make sure the URL is the correct URL at the very least.

Linode is excellent, top notch provider but they had a few breaches in the past. Use a card that you can cancel anytime.

At least when I'm on https://paypal.com--facebook.secure.totally-not-malware.net, I'll know that I'm not being man-in-the-middle attacked since my information is encrypted and securely being transmitted to the phishers.

Didn't get you for sentence 'securely being transmitted to the phishers'. I think you meant 'not being transmitted to the phishers'

Derrrrrrrrrrr. You either have no sense of humour or don't understand when someone is being extremely sarcastic.
