Advice on ecommerce software?

Hi,

I need to setup a website quickly which sells some handmade stuff, I really like the Luma theme of magento but I've tested it to be pretty heavy.
The primary requirement is to branch out the website into sister locale specific websites like for .ca, .co.uk, .de, .fr etc. Magento seems to be able to do this. The other options are oscommerce, Prestashop or to make it from scratch.

I think making it from scratch will take a lot of time and resources.

Can you please suggest me
1) what software should I go with and why?
2) how should I go about doing this? Like setup different installations of the software for each locale and keep them in sync somehow or use the inbuilt locale options if they are provided and run a single installation.

Any kind of advice will be helpful, thank you.

Configuration Centmin Mod with magento Nginx directives

sudo mv composer.phar /usr/local/bin/composer

Install magento via composer using centmin mod. 
1)  Create/Change directory to magento directory 
2)  Drop Database if Necessary
3)  cd /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public  (Test)
4)  cd /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public (Production)
5)  chown -R nginx:nginx /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public
6)  composer require magento-hackathon/magento-composer-installer ~3.0
7)  Define Root /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public
8)  composer require aydin-hassan/magento-core-composer-installer ~1.2
9)  composer require firegento/magento ~1.9.3
10)  chown -R nginx:nginx /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public
11)  Set up website online
12)  Set Permissions

Use cloudflare as a dns only server....Setup subdomain for cloudflare cdn... Follow this guide...

For different website, local product information pimgento will be nice to use but it has a high learning curve.
