    I think it's about this:

    Single HEx core X5670

32GB RAM (confirmed this time.... go Yeti!!!)

    4x 1TB SATA

    1GE Port

    25TB BW

    1 IPv4 (upgrade to /29 for $6/mo)

    IPv6 on request (/64)

iDRAC (iDRAC 6..... aka the easier iDRAC! (vs. DRAC5))

    $72 / quarter

  • My IPMI is working right now @DatabaseByDesignLLC thanks Scott.

Use IE on windows or even no browser at all and start the java file directly. Also make sure to whitelist the IP you need to connect to in the java security settings...

Not sure about DRAC, but on the old ILO systems you need to disable TLS 1.1 and 1.2 in your Java settings. Will only connect via TLS 1.0

  • If I was one of the ones who got the 16GB of ram instead of the 32GB, what are the chances of me actually getting the additional ram?

emails are going out now.... please open a ticket if you want to use the idrac's, they are not easy to run with the newer version of Java (ActiveX is recommended believe it or not).

Indeed newer java versions disable MD5 signed files. I am using my Ubuntu 16.04 LXDE based docker image with VNC support to run java consoles now https://github.com/centminmod/docker-ubuntu-vnc-desktop. Confirmed working with DBD Dell iDRAC's console. I disabled the MD5 signed restriction.

Finally tried this solution. Amazing. Thank you so much. Easy and works great.

I am not sure that is the route that I want to take. Obviously, I was hoping for the extra ram and keeping the server.

I was hoping for blackjack and hookers today, but I gotta say I was being a bit unrealistic.

Depends where you live...I can be at a casino in 45 minutes. I think they have both.

I also don't think that getting what I ordered is being unrealistic.

I don't mind taking that dedi off your hands, even if its a 16GB.

@DatabaseByDesignLLC before I glue my finger to the F5 key, could you please let me know if CentOS 7.x can be installed on those servers?

  • You can install any OS you'd like once you get the server but our default image is CentOS6.9 64bit
