There is no obligation for you to be listed. Lowendbox is designed to list offers that interest the visitors of the site. AFAIK offers may simply not be listed. How you have approached this is not the fault of LEB.

I think we waited over a month on our last offer.

I'm going to look into the LEB/LET Facebook and Twitter account this week @ska.

I think we have the Spam issue resolved by manual activations.. though obviously that is hardly the best solution because creates a lag time when some users want to post right away. I know such delays would annoy me.

I have replied. Rules are for everyone, sorry.

Hi Liam can you reply to mine as well? Thanks. I believe I have been waiting for over 40 days, I can possibly spice up the offer if needed... but I thought it was a good one.

  • @jbiloh spam...... maybe akismet or keyword ("nike") Filtering?

I'll look into askismet today but from what I understand the spam problem has been solved temporarily by manual activations, right?

Not yet, apparently. I don't know what it is. I can't check the settings for registrations, unfortunately, but I'm guessing there's still something wrong.

  • But what if some user wants to write a legitimate review of Nike shoes? Or cheap Canadian Viagra?

  • I have a legit suggestion. Can @DewlanceVPS get his own usergroup called "Comic Relief"

It's definately set correctly, not sure possibly a flaw in Vanilla, spam has definately reduced but not stopped.

Then we kindly ask them to do it elsewhere by banning them and deleting their content ;-)

Possibly the culprit: www.lowendtalk.com and lowendtalk.com are both being served. Perhaps the base domain should be redirected to the www subdomain?

No, the www is just a subdomain. So that should redirect to the base-domain. No need to make subdomains if the content is available under the domain itself. the "www" is an ancient form that should have been abolished years ago. But people still use it as they don't understand protocols and ports.

See this post for why I recommended redirecting to the www subdomain.

As I said, the misunderstaning of protocols and ports. The problems discussed in the article can simply be solved by using the technology how it was intended to be. But the article tries to throw up "solutions" that show the misunderstanding of technology. Suggesting CNAMES as reliable resolve-entries for a high-traffic website and misusing subdomains for getting around problems with validity of cookies whereas this could be solved with a proper code is utter absurd.

  • If I host an app on the root domain, and an app on the wiki subdomain, is there a guaranteed way to prevent cookies on the root domain from being accessible on the wiki subdomain?

If the wiki subdomain is compromised, what's stopping from recording session cookies from the root domain for exploitation?

  • I was on twitter today and noticed @LowEndNetwork does not maintain it, the last tweet was in March. I think it would drive more traffic to LE* if someone was active on the social media sites, and perhaps run a few random giveaways to followers to boost activity.

  • Why don't you ask @Chief for the password?

  • IvanIvan Member

Yeah, I guess reviving the Twitter account is a good idea. It has a bit over 1,000 followers too.
