cheapest uptime check with sms

You guys know a uptime check service that sends sms for a Reasonable price.

The most prices that i fond where around 15$/Month. I am more looking for something around 3$.

    1. pick any uptime service that offer api,
    2. write simple code to check status using their api + use twillio

    You can sync email to your mobile device, and use uptimerobot for free?

    Just use uptimerobot, they provide 5min interval check and warn by email if up and down

    I'm using a self-hosted Nagios instance for checking my servers regularly
    for uptime, disk usage, S.M.A.R.T, ram usage and many more.

    Of course, you can set the check interval by yourself.

    It can send to email or you could write a simple script to use a
    SMS service provider.

    On https://bearmon.com only the Twilio price is charged (rounded up to nearest cent).

    I have not aways a data connection on my phone. That is why i want to receive a sms.

    For $15.00 you get 200 monitors and SMS Notifications. Honestly, it's worth it. Maybe Shawn can offer a custom plan :)

    But why are the most site checkers so expensive? The only thing that it has to do is try to load a site or ping to it.

    It costs money to run the service. There is more to it than just that.

    • Support
    • Continuous feature improvements
    • Server costs for all the word wide checker nodes
    • SMS and email sending costs (phone if that is offered)

      etc

    Wanting to make a decent living from it as well.

    I would say for what nodeping offers they are extremely well priced.

    this company https://nodeping.com/ offer unlimited sms notification or $8 dollars a month you can only have 5 monitor for the cheapest plan.

    Not sure how many checks you need. Pingdom offers two free checks (one when you open the account and another if you tweet that you use Pingdom; which you can delete). I use uptimerobot and I do get SMS messages from them without an issue (been using them since... forever).
