I have a homeserver 16 gb ram, cpu 3.6, 500 gb harddisk and 250/250 mbps internet, now I'm getting ddossed regulary. Can I use a vps to setup a vpn to my server to get ddos protection?

Why not just purchase remote DDoS protection? A regular VPN service is only going to kick you or go offline.

I've been reading a bit but I'm a bit confused, do I need a tunnel, reverse proxy or vps with open vpn?
