What are the goals for this? Nginx and Apache can both proxy http requests.

Do you need a reverse proxy, load balancer, or forward proxy? What about HTTPS?

    lighttpd would also work.

    Try MicroProxy or polipo.

  • Can use caddy server as a reverse proxy.

  • What are your requirements, why not HAProxy/nginx?

he needs a forward proxy not reverse proxy

i use tinyproxy or 3proxy for forward HTTP proxy and you can also use free Opera VPN in such a way as it as a web browser HTTP VPN mode if you need it for personal use for web browsing

and haproxy and nginx for reverse proxy

  • forward is over rated, everyone knows the party is in reverse
