Serverpilot question

Hello fellow Lowenders,

As we have always used Directadmin for our servers, we want now explore the possibilites of serverpilot. One of the dowsides is that they do not have a mailserver for handling domains email only postfix for sending site based email.

They recommend a separate mail services like google, office365, ZOHO ...

We also want to offer email accounts to the clients, we also want all automated with WHMCS, how would this be done, any ideas or suggestions, it looks like we need to create several accounts on different servers to cater email and the hosting.

  • Running mail server on same box can make you troubles (blacklisting, wasting resources,...) you have a smart, reliable and cheap choice: mxroute.com
For transactional emails it's highly recommended to use services like mailgun.com or elasticemail.com
Don't use your server for any email and live longer!
Serverpilot is a great service but take look at runcloud.io . Unlimited servers for only 10$ and many interesting features that cost you a lot on serverpilot.io.

  • we are familiar with mailgun, amazon, and others. But our cutomers want mail on their domain. SO that is our main concern, how to offer email to them when serverpilot or runcloud is not providing email. How do you put this together in whmcs for example without too much manual setup.

You'd probably need to setup your own MTA unless you want to integrate with a provider, such as @jarland 's mxroute, as mentioned above.

Serverpilot + mxroute should be good. It all depends on your budget. Is there a reason for you to step out of DA panel?

I must be missing something, how is server pilot a replacement for directadmin or cPanel?

Isn't server pilot designed for single tenant environments?

  • @Hxxx we love Directadmin but serverpilot.io does a great job in server management which we buy now external. So serverpilot.io is saving us monthly a nice sum.

@ihadp serverfout is excellent to run shared hosting on. We integrated it into whmcs with the hypnotic monkey module so our users can control the settings.

  • How about a half way solution?

If you're comfortable/happy with DirectAdmin for the moment, why not just have a DA server devoted to email and then run everything else through Serverpilot?

  • Runcloud as mentioned before does everything serverpilot does from my understanding. I would go with runcloud.

  • Why not cpanel just $3 differentz
