Europe Backup Location
I'm looking for a cheap backup VPS to mirror mysql dumps.
- Need at least 256mb ram
- cpu does not really matter
- 20gb hdd+ (or more if you can offer).
- NAT ipv4 is okay if you have dedicated ipv6 subnets
- openvz is okay.
- Europe location (uk/nl/de/fr or similar) preferred, if its cheap canada is okay too.
I can pay yearly using paypal or bitcoin, however you prefer. Stability is important for me. Budget is 10-15€ for 1 year. greets

I'll keep it in mind, even though the cpu and ram is clearly wasted in my case. For production I use OVH VPS already.
On a side note, I already have one mirror vps at hostus, but they just can't seem to fix their damn firewall. If I rsync something and try again a minute later suddenly my ip gets blocked for 30min+. This problem exists since over a year and is persisting so I'm looking for a new location now.

Thanks for your offers. I calculated it through and the cheapest and most comfortable version by far is to go with the OVH Object Storage. I pay 0.01€ per GB and month, get 100% data consistency (triple replication) which makes it the perfect solution for my backups. 50gb for a year would cost me 6€, I guess thats hard to beat.
frk, don't forget the bandwidth charges if you have to restore from OVH. You could also look at their Cloud Archive product which has upload as well as download charges, but is just 0.002€/GB/month, or Online.net C14 which is available in various versions. The Intensive option with no upload or download fees is 0.005€/m so your 50gb would be 3€/year.

Wishosting seems to be the way to go. Someone posted the link further up: scroll to the bottom of the page. Note that it says 2.99 euro without mentioning that's per YEAR, not per month, for a NAT vps with 40gb of storage.
