Vultr $2.50 for 512MB

Not sure if this is something new, but just read and realized that they are now having this 512MB/20GB plan for 2.50.

So there's Linode, do you think DigitalOcean would follow suit?

I think it's a matter of time, as long as DigitalOcean can get the VC money to burn.

Here the Vultr blog post regarding the update: https://www.vultr.com/news/The-Vultr-Cloud-Is-More-Powerful-Than-Ever/

  • Wow they increase ram and disk space as well

  • Race to the bottom. Waiting for Aruba to offer double resources on their $1/mo offering now.

  • Yes they will do it eventually

  • Wow, basically they cut price 50%

  • Wow nice. Vultr, shut up and take my money.

Hope the abusers don't ruin Vultr!

Looks like they are limiting the $2.5 plan to two per account.

    Fucking NICE!

  • I don't think so. DO just offer new feature Load Balancer.

They have halved the prices of pretty much everything, the 16GB instance is only $80 now, are they updating current customers pricing too or are they going to make me backup and recreate for no good reason?

"2 out of 3 servers added. You have reached the maximum number of active instances (2) with our sandbox plan. Please choose a different plan."

Oh shit, @nik- I forgot completely.. do you still need feedback on the new system? I've been real-lifing it recently.

It's alright, thanks! We're good to go, only rewriting some parts of the underlying system.

I don't want to downgrade, I was saying that the plan I pay $150 for is now $80 and I wondered if I get the new pricing?

    Well, that's downright awesome.

It actually makes their pricing a lot more sensible. Used to be 768MB for $5 or 1024MB for $10, which meant your price doubled for an addition 128MB of RAM. Now it's a more logical 512/1024/etc. stepping. And of course 1024 for the old 768 price.

    Storage is still $5/125GB.

The current pricing https://s9.postimg.org/q9fdgv2z3/pricing.png, 6 vCPU, 16384 MB is now for $80

  • holly sh*t, that prices is something. but limited 2 instances, anyway they're still raid0 right.

They should offer support SLAs, otherwise I'd rather cut all my servers there.

They're unmanaged servers and they already offer a Network SLA.
