Best Network Connectivity to Australia and China?
Hello,
I was thinking to get a proxy server setup between Australia and mainland China, to improve the connectivity between these two countries for my home networks. Preferably a Hong Kong, Singapore or Japan locations would do the trick, however I'm limited in a budget under $20/mo for this VPS service.
Hong Kong is good IMO, however if I go with direct China route then the price will be entirely different. Have been tried various providers but still cannot find a good one with a reliable connection. Any suggest?
Thanks

Go with chinamobile for your home network inside china - they have way better peering outside china
Actually what I need is access Chinese sites from Australia. The outbound bandwidth for China is super restricted and slow.
Would LA work? Our network there has PCCW in the blend.
PM me for an unprotected IP.
Although the current Australian network was routed via USA, but still worth trying. PM sent.
You don't need to worry too much about Australia. Our problems aren't international, only the domestic ISPs.
PCCW is nice, but HE or whoever else you have is normally sufficient.
I am wondering why still so many ppl asking the cheap and best connection to china. I believe everyone here know that CT and CU charge very unreasonable expensive price. When you expect for cheap, you cant expect for good connection. while you need good quality, you have to pay more.
Most Australian ISPs have their own POPs in Hong Kong (low latency route via Guam on AAG) but the direct routing into Mainland China sometimes is not there. The only Australian ISP I know that has a direct routing into Mainland China (direct IP transit with CT and CU) is Telstra. If they do not have direct route the default route on CT/CU is via California (San Jose or Los Angeles) as that is where they directly route the majority of their Western traffic.
Aliyun HKB best one at this moment
Too bad that free traffic package isnt available in a few weeks anymore
Any other discounts available?
you can still get the new "promo" which also has free data for next 12months. price is fair
and I believe HKB-Sydney will be having around 140-150 ms ping, 0% package loss>

Aliyun still have the data package if you pay annually.
you can use softlayer's internal network.
Hi. our upstream is in the planning of deploying Jakarta - Perth submarine cable (currently they do own Jakarta - Singapore). Please do have a look on their peers http://bgp.he.net/AS55818#_peers (they are 2nd largest peering in Indonesia). Also take a look at our Indonesia Looking Glass here http://winnervps.com/looking-glass/#tab-1461572607657-5-2
intl.aliyun.com .
HK and Shenzhen can do the trick .
Around $100 per year .
Other details: 30mbit /500G bandwidth(out only) /month .

@Greenvine Mind if I PM you?
Absolutely not, go ahead
I am confused with another promotion offered by them: https://intl.aliyun.com/campaign/starter-package
What's the difference between web hosting (with RAM and CPU) and starter VPS? Isn't web hosting similar to cPanel, you cannot obtain the root shell of the server while you can do so on a VPS?

Seems it's better to go with Starter Package since I can take advantage of promo longer
Anyways I will PM you.
