Need advice on shared hosting

I need a shared host but not necessarily low end. In fact, a big and established firm will be better.

I want something easy to use, no problems, no management, set-up and forget type.. ~10 domains will be hosted, domains were purchased already. 4-5 of them will be just brochure sites, others will be low traffic Wordpress blogs, may be a forum etc.

Cpanel (or a similar management panel) is a must. So dreamhost is not an option. ipage is very cheap (2 $ if paid 3-yearly) but reviews say ihost's quality is very low, very high page load times etc.

Any recommendations?

@Francisco 's BuyShared Been using them 1.5years and cannot fault.

  • Are you looking for 1 cpanel account to host all those sites ? Or separate cpanel accounts for each of them ? Any location preference ?

  • Hey there, if you are interested we can help you with a great package that can fit your needs in Germany using vestacp (https://demo.vestacp.com/ if you'd like to try it out) we can even extend you a 15 days trial if you want to give it a try.

How much traffic are you looking for on a per month basis?
    Disk space?
    Preferred location?

  • Google App Engine is great for brochure websites. Just use this as app.yaml: https://gist.github.com/darktable/873098
It's a bit a hassle to set up, but works great because it manages traffic bursts with ease. I never got over the free quota, so you should be a bit cautious about the costs.

We have shared hosting in Dallas and Seattle.

If you need something just cheap that works you could check the budget hosting or if you need a bit more there is also standard shared:

    Happy to answer any questions.

  • Location is not important; Europe or North America will suffice.

I am not exactly sure about space requirements; 10-20 GB max will be enough probably.

These websites are for friends & relatives; I won't be paid :) So i want minimum possible management times.

I will be the sole web-admin. single cpanel will be better I think.

I prefer cheap but 1. easy to admin, 2. minimum problems and 3. acceptable speed and load times are more important.

    ====
about app engine etc: Here the most important factor is "time to setup", so vps, app engine or other time-consuming alternatives are not options. Even I prefer multi-year payment. Like, I will set up a domain and a wordpress site for my cousin, install necessary add-ons, give him a user name and password and pray for him not calling me ever about this :)

about hosting: I prefer a hosting firm which is at least several years old.

I have an off the wall suggestion- icdsoft.com

They're not the cheapest, and their prices are more 2002 than 2017, but they have a completely custom control panel, and I had 1 hour of downtime in 17 years (when host was migrating and DNS wasn't updated fast enough). They have multiple datacenters and transits, and have always done well by me. No porn/warez/etc- or they'll shut you down immediately, if not faster.

  • ImpactShared, BuyVM are two pretty good options.

Even though you are the only one managing the site, it is still not a good idea to put multiple wordpress/cms sites on one single cpanel account (from both performance and security point of view). Rest is your choice.

  • btw, I am not a reseller. No warez, no porn, no e-mail sending (except script generated "lost password recovery" things), just well known php blogs, forums etc..

I strictly need one-click-installs. I may need one or two dedi ips or SSL but not now.

They've got plenty of "one clicks", you have full access over your clients, renewal information, billing (with your fees, etc). Good luck finding what works for you!

  • Love your billing URL.

Means the billing's name is Dr. Bill. :P

Now I'll get to the OP here. If you're looking for reliable shared hosting, you'd most likely wanna go with @Francisco's BuyShared. His service is reliable and you'll probably never regret it.

You should take a look at our offers at Hostens.

  • ehost, HostGator and inmotion hosting are also good alternatives for shared hosting. Read about more best hosting providers of 2017 with their review. Their prices are almost same under $5.
