For 5 years? Afaik. promotional pricing is valid only first year of registration with most if not all xxx registrars.

Incorrect. This promo is valid for domain name creations from 1 to 10 years! (checked with gandi, dynadot and godaddy)
there was a law suit. You can pay in advance for 10 years now.
