Need replacement for my scaleway box

MultiMulti Member
edited December 2016 in Requests

Hey im looking for a good replacement for my current box with scaleway.

So I will need the following:
1-2 CPU Cores

atleast 1GB Ram

200GB HDD/SSD (doesnt really matter)

100 MBit/s is fine (1-2 TB traffic will be needed)

Location: prefer Western Europe

Budget: around 5 Euro (~$5,5)

I am moving away from Scaleway because I often have problems with the network and also with the disks.
Will be used for my personal cloud.

    SPEEDYKVM is a great choice. 1GB DDR3 / 500GB RAID 5 / 1Gbps @ 5TB/MONTH @ $4/month.

@mtsbatalha SpeedyKVM is an awfully long way from Western Europe so he would have to compromise on his preferred location. @multi - may want to contact @quadhost they have some nice specials https://quadhost.net/account/cart.php?gid=17?utm_source=lowendtalk&utm_medium=signiture&utm_content=let2016-xmas-offers&utm_campaign=quadhost-signiture and may have some other stuff with their i83.net brand too

I'm happy with my two i83 250gb storage plans but they're not really the right thing for a personal cloud, imho. They have 512mb ram and not that much cpu or iops available. It sounds like you need something beefier. If you can swing 7 USD/month then a BuyVM 250GB KVM in Luxembourg might work. I believe you can still ask @Francisco for a RAM increase to 1GB.

Do i want to raise a ticket for the ISO to be mounted ?

Nothing fishy, if you can't calculate or read it's nothing to do with us, don't bother to sign up, as you don't have a clue how to manage your VPS, as service is unmanaged!

153.60 (2 Years) / 24 (for some people who don't know that in 2 years is 24 months) = £6.40 (nothing fishy, just simple maths)

As posted by us above plan, we will do a special deal.

Nothing is rude about it. I find that some people who can't read is normally buying unmanaged service and expecting fully proactive managed service. Plenty of such negative reviews about, as some people purchased unmanaged service and expecting something different, one good example: OVH company

On our website is clearly stated "from £6.40", if person can't read or calculate, it's nothing to do with us and the issue is in that person!

  • You could have phrased it "Hey I think you read our offer wrong. Over 2 years in 6.40 Pound per month. However at 8 pounds its still a good value and here is a special that we have....." Which one would make you look better?

  • Lol! Wow. That went bad quickly. I can read fine by the way.
And yeah, @OhMyMy I'm just dying to be a customer of his now.
@WebProject How many VPS can I buy at 1 time? I'd love to give you $5, $6.40, or $8.00 per month depending on how many redirects I get from your site.

The offer on our website is not available, as I have mentioned, we do one off for above OP, as he requested the offers.

That is completely irrelevant to the point @OhMyMy was trying to make.

    I do get point.

As we are accused of doing something "fishy", the point is under trading law in UK we do nothing wrong: "from xx" price can be used everywhere (example: hosting companies, retailers, hotels, holiday companies, car dealership), exactly the same as other hosting companies do! One or more people can't understand how the prices work, I don't think it's our fault.

You're confusing "fishy" with outright "wrong".

What you're doing is fishy, not wrong, so under UK trading laws, you're not doing anything wrong, just like you said.

Asking someone to pay over $150 GBP over the period of 2 years to talk to someone as foul mouthed as you is ridiculous. I'd rather roll a 100 pound bill and stick it up my ass.

Sometimes, sometimes not, I for one appreciate it at times rather than people who want to be all softly softly.

There are times when customers need to be told they're being stupid if they get offended and leave then so be it. Drives me nuts having to clean up the mess left behind by people trying to please a customer and doing something bespoke.

One doesn't need to be too rude or too nice.

Being a decent human being is just about enough.
