Need a VPS for an adult website
Hello.
I host an adult website with photos and videos (the .mp4 files are hosted in another VPS). I made it by myself, so it's well-optimized and does not consume much resources.
I've been a client of a host company since May without any problems (just some outages), but they received an abuse complaint and suspended my VPS. It's not the first time that this happens to me (the website is on the air for a few years already), and I am often a victim of fake complaints from some competitors. Because of the nature of my website, these complaints take my VPS down easily.
I've already provided an explanation and some proofs for my host (this happened 2 hours ago), but this situation is unacceptable and now I want to move out from them.
I can spend something like $15/mo.
I will use 1~2GB RAM, less than 1TB BW and 10~20GB of space.
I need a host that is DMCA friendly (what I mean is: if you receive a complaint [probably saying that I'm publishing illegal adult content], ask me what is happening before suspending my VPS without any notice). This is REALLY important.
I made a search and I think that @cociu is a good choice.
Do you have any suggestions?

@EricB if its a valid DMCA and you are in the US don't you have to take down the offending material from your server? Or do you have extra special rules for your extra special company?

The revProxy is the "Expendable" unit in this way. So your host/server vps can be with whomever and then get the cheapest revProxy from a host that dont give a flying ping pong ball about das titties. You will need to have a backup revProxy provider incase the first decides your xxx is too strong.

I'd go with a dedicated with @cociu. Could not be happier with his vps s.
It is like insurance. You are pooling resources to rarely use it, for a cheaper cost. If you are using full resources or high capacity all the time.. then why used a shared plan like OpenVZ or oversold KVM? Your will see your server being selectively limited, then possibly banned for abuse (read the ToS).
How is 1 TB of bandwidth and 20 GB of space on a server going to cause an issue. Even a 100mbps card can push out 33TB a month - so he is at .03 of the server bandwidth and if its on 1000 that's .003. If he is on KVM the memory and disk space is allocated to him. Just how exactly is he going to cause an issue (the copyright infringement is another story). But on his site with what he specified, please elaborate @cheapwebdev how exactly he is going to cause problems (and yes tos should always be read regardless of content). He isn't even doing any processing of videos on the server.
No offense but that makes zero sense and is not true at all.
