[Beta] NeuronHosting Free VPS's

Hello there.

NeuronHosting is going to start hosting beta VPS's in San Diego.

Server Specs:
AMD Phenom II
12GB of RAM
100Mbit (2TB)
2x 500GB SSD RAID 1

I am aware this is desktop hardware, but the pricing will be some of the best you have seen here.

If you are interested send me a PM.

THE VPS HAS TO BE USED, IF IT IS IDLE I WILL EAT YOUR HEAD OFF.

NeuronHosting has been offering stable and reliable hosting since 2011, and this is part of an expansion to try to distance ourselves from the world of drama and gaming.

    I want one, can you give me a 32mb one? Will use it for proxy, if its allowed of course. :D

  • Heh, sure, as long as its a private one.

    Servers will be activated sometime tomorrow.

  • AndriAndri Member

    My 1st KVM node was a Phenom II x6 1090T, not a damn thing wrong with it

    What's the virtualization?

    @miTgiB

    Phenom II >> X2 >> X4 >> X6

    I automatically assumed X2, if its X6, its decent for testing.. but still not great nowadays for production environments.

    Instead of ssd you could have used sas ands got decent CPU. Just saying.

    @bijan588 Minecraft bringing you headaches ? ;)

  • Throw me one, I'll do some testing on it with webservers... Not bothered on specs/capacities -- Just 5GB Disk, 10GB B/W(maybe more?) -- And 32MB-96MB Ram (prefer around 64~ for some comparative results...

    I've pm'ed my request. I especially like to see the performance of the SSD.

  • Hey, one of the SSD's seems to be DOA, so I am just going to skip the raid for now.

    Servers will be up tomorrow.

  • Imma try one too

    I dont think the cpu is bad, with ssd storage and good bw the machines will be fast. No gaming and no torrenting, that will be decent performance.
    However, since all have to be used, that will be a bit harsh for the cpu... 50 used machines taking some cpu at least for passing packets along will be severe, I think.

    Thanks for everyone who participated :)

    I know not everyone got one, but I filled all 50 slots on the server.

    The test was a great success.

    If you don't mind my asking, how did the CPU hold up to 50 users? These days I like AMD a little more than I used to.

  • @jarland I used to be a big fan of AMD back when 64 was awesome (and it wasn't that long ago either). I still prefer AMD over Intel personally (quality wise)

    Thanked by 1jar
  • Damn, looks like I missed this. Was looking for a spare vps for radius load balancing

    Around 30 - 50% sustained.

    Wow! 50 users on desktop hardware..that's pretty good, I wonder how many they can cram on those Xeons
