Hi Guys,

Bit of a plug for a friend, he has developed a new Live Chat platform called Live Support Rhino. Take a look, see what you think.

Website: http://www.livesupportrhino.com/
Demo: http://www.livesupportrhino.com/demo

Load up the operator panel in 1 window, and the customer panel in another and give it a try.

Personally I don't use it, as I don't have a need. However he has done some good work so far, it's certainly usable with some good features, and more to add over time.

  • @breton You are Referring to the hosted version. The script code $18

    @Breezehost Its not free software.

$18 self hosted, come back when you have something constructive to add.

  • I wonder what the pricing at http://www.livesupportrhino.com/faq/a/2/how-can-i-get-rhino is for then. Maybe the FAQ isn't updated yet.

  • @Joel said: come back when you have something constructive to add.

my constructive feedback is, don't put the hosted version for the first time, and put THAT $18 self hosted price at front side by side with the other. i have the same situation with breton. opened => watching the price show me $108 => closing browser tab.

Which is a hell of a lot more useful than "mr lols" above ;) I've shot this thread to him via email, so anything you add here he can take on board. For the record, developer's name is Jerome, so i'll poke him to come in and personally respond.

  • @Joel great.. honestly, at the first time you really disappointed me (with that $108 :P ) i'm looking for another live chat script since my current live chat support really buggy in whmcs v4.5.2 and above. now i'll wait your friend.

  • Thanks Joel. We are also looking for alternatives :)

  • Cool! Since he'll be here to read: Are there any plans to add IM integration, specifically gtalk?

  • InfinityInfinity Member, Host Rep

Simplistic, looks interesting but I've seen many other similar scripts. Obviously not the same design etc.

  • Thank you very much for all the feedback! Check regularly for updates...

  • I bought that script and it was useless, so I started from scratch building my own (Rhino), same look (different images) but all new written in PHP5, MySQL5 and jQuery.

Rhino Pro 1.2 has been released, the best release so far and probably the best live support software on the web.

    What customer say:

Very easy to use and to install (took me literally 5 minutes to set up and config), 5 extra minutes to translate the script to French, 10min to set up icons.

Thanks for the amazing update! I’ll update my install now.

After 5 days of intensive testing I would like to give a short feedback: Awesome Work! Great Script! Works Perfectly! 5 Stars!

  • Hm well seems like a blast from the past (or something new for me). I'd like to ask, did you incorporate the other chat supports? (such as gChat)?

    Thanks! I didn't noticed that.

sorry for that, it should work now...

  • DamianDamian Member

Couldn't get the demo to work. Anyone using this?

  • JeromeJerome Member

    What was the problem?

  • DamianDamian Member

I logged in as operator on the Pro demo. And then waited for the user icon to change to online. It never did. So I tried clicking the button, and it wanted me to leave a message.

Do I need to do something further once I log in to the operator side?

  • JeromeJerome Member

You need to make yourself available in the operator panel first and then open the chat window with a second browser. If you don't have two browser installed you can still use one but to test it extensively it is best to use two.

  • DamianDamian Member

Thanks, that wasn't immediately obvious. :)

Can that be turned off, or otherwise set to always be available when I log in?

  • JeromeJerome Member

Yes, when you logged in and you have made yourself available it will stay available as long you are logged in and the window (iPhone/Android/fluid) is open. The system will set you offline if you close the window or shut down the computer, otherwise your customer would still try to chat with you.

When all operators are offline, then the contact form will be displayed.

  • DamianDamian Member

Thanks for the input. We're going to drop Zopim and try this out.

  • @HalfEatenPie said: did you incorporate the other chat supports? (such as gChat)?

I don't think that question got answered.

If there's support for gChat I'd drop zopim and try this out too.

Yeah, I was kinda disappointed that question got ignored, especially since we use gchat for mobile responses. But as much as Zopim sucks, i'm willing to try this out.
