    @djvdorp said: Yearly discount?

    No.

    @djvdorp said: Irc allowed?

    Short answer: Yes.

    Long answer: Legal use of IRC is allowed on our network. IRC may not be used on our network when the intentions are malicious or illegal, e.g. for controlling a bot net or other illegal activity.

  • Dionysus: I demand HostBill to reply to my presales questions quicker! Once migration to HostBill is complete, we'll get a KVM node!

    Loving these speeds.

  • @SimpleNode pm'ed you

  • So this is a gig speed VPS I take it?

  • SimpleNode isn't instant setup.

    Tried 40 minutes ago and everything fine until it hit their autosetup panel stuff.

    Main customer area says:
    Virtual private server Ultra L... Failed Setup

    So buyers beware.

    I bet they ran out of allocated stock.

  • @pubcrawler got mine a few hours ago no probs...but I'm an existing customer so no barriers to hop... If they did run out already, that was bloody fast!

    It is instant setup.
    Also amazing thing is that I'm running a full webmin/virtualmin without any problem with 64mb. this is first time running a full virtualmin with 64mb. so good.

    Bit harsh don't you think? I know for a fact that Simplenode is a very reputable company and has great guys behind it.

    If it didn't set up instantly, then they'll resolve it for you. Drop in a ticket ;)

    @pubcrawler

    You chose "--none--" as a OS template when ordering, and it threw errors when it tried to provision a VPS with --none--.tar.gz (which does not exist). :)

  • I did file a ticket when that happened @Dionysus.

    Guess I bungled my shopping experience (egg on face). Unsure where I missed the OS option.

    Not being cruel. Just a FYI. Know my fellow VPS fans can be an impatient bunch. Anything that steps in the way of provisioning instantly often sends them into nuttyville :)

    @pubcrawler On the order page, there is an option to select a OS template.
    ost

    If you do not select a template, the billing system does not default to a template, it instead thinks that "--none--" is a valid template and will try to provision the server with it.

    Another reason why we're moving to HostBill soon.

  • Dig their WHCMS (assumption) layout. Pretty nice compared to what I see elsewhere.

  • that's not WHMCS.

  • @SimpleNode, Thanks for pointing that out :) Mandatory field that should be. My apologies for being quick to buy and blind in the process.

  • @LAKid, care to say what customer package that is? Rather comfortable layout. Wish more were comprehensive in one screen (i.e.: Invoice info, Tickets, Services, etc.) all in the main screen.

  • @pubcrawler what else is out there other than whmcs, hostbill?

  • @LAKid view source yields BoxBilling.
