  • Unrealistic pricing for both countries...

You probably won't get Korean for a while. They have a strict policy against outsiders hosting within the country. (You're required to get a foreigner's version of a social security number (aka Legal Alien Identification Number) even for a simple VPS.

Also, yeah you won't find anything like that pricing wise. Bandwidth is expensive, let alone RAM.

  • It's a fairy dream,bro.

  • @GreenVine You could always get a Linode in Tokyo...

  • @HalfEatenPie said: "Alien Identification Number"

    Interesting phrase :)

  • @rds100 said: Interesting phrase :)

Well... :P Alien does mean Foreign.

  • @marcm said: @GreenVine You could always get a Linode in Tokyo...

For a Linode Tokyo 2G+,the OP will have to pay $79.95/m for it.

  • That's why...

@William said: Unrealistic pricing for both countries...

    Makes sense... right?

  • @Liam said: Not sure if techievps has any their.

TechieVPS will merge to VPS.net in the end of Oct :D

You can try Amazon EC2 in Japan but the price ....
    Other providers in Japan

    and South Korea
    http://www.internetbrothers.co.kr/webpromotion/english/vps-in-korea.html
    http://www.vpshosting.co.kr/

    Interesting lists

  • Not...going...to..
    Happen bro...

  • Techie VPS is toast. They aren't accepting any new customers under that brand.

The VPS.net brand they are merging into (always been the same company) has MUCH higher prices.

    Lowest plan is:
    1.2GHz
    Dedicated RAM
    376MB
    Disk space
    10GB
    Network transfer
    1TB
    Monthly cost from
    $20.00

Really aren't many options in Japan. Very costly compared to US and Europe :(

  • North Korea is the true off shore hosting.
DMCA doesn't dare to touch it.

  • Korea routes all their traffic through china. So it would make more sense using China.

    What are you smoking, Liam?

I ask because I want some of it too.

@Liam That's 'Best Korea,' not the actual KR.

I haven't found any references to NK, and I'd say that people think of SK when one says 'Korea.'

    Haha, what?

  • Hmm...
    A little expensive...
For Hong Kong, EDIS HK DC has a network issue to mainland China...

That was the funniest joke I've ever heard

I'm Korean and I might be able to help you.
First off, you MUST be good at Korean to get support

    First recommendation is Cafe24:
    2G RAM
    40G HDD (raid10)
    8 cores E5606
    XEN
    1Gbps, 600G/mo
Uptime: always 100% or 99.99% in my experience
    setup fee: $20
    monthly fee: $15
Cafe24 is one of the most experienced hosting company in Korea.
Their products are cheap and in good quality.

    Second recommendation is Smileserv:
    2G RAM
    100G HDD (raid10)
    2 cores
    KVM
    1Gbps, 250G/mo
Uptime: 99.97% or better in my experience

    • hardware firewall, auto alert when service down, remote KVM console all included
      deposit: $18
      monthly fee: $34
Smileserv is a bit more expensive but their support is awesome (in Korean...)
they have strict quota per one dedicated server (never oversold)

    third is ucloud biz
    2G RAM
    100G HDD
    1 core
    1Gbps, 100G/mo
    Uptime: 99.95% or better
    monthly fee: $36
Ucloud biz is the best cloud service in Korea (not as good as aws...)
They have good api and disaster recovery services you can freely use

    Hope this helps...

Then you probably didn't hear many jokes in your life

  • Maybe one of you is speaking about North Korean and the other one about South Korea?

What are you talking about? There is only one legitimate Korea and that is Best Korea!

Yeah but it's hilarious that someone thought people mean .KP in a discussion about VPS hosting, and even linked the BGP.HE.NET page for .KP as a proof of "look, I'm right!". :D

Please give me your website, and if you support PayPal and English support?

And give me test IP please.

  • He is no seller... he just gave you OTHER providers, unrelated to him.
And no, none of these do PayPal or english support
