Hey Guys,
I've joined CrownCloud [https://crowncloud.net] and they've been offering VPS's for around ~2 weeks or so, I'll be doing their community sales/support only on LowEndTalk, I<3 LET while other guys at CrownCloud will be doing the same on other forums :)

All the VPS's come with,
1 Gbit Shared Line
Dedicated RAM
1 MB Burst (Yes, 1 MB)
4 Shared Cores of AMD FX-4100 at 3.6Ghz / 3.8Ghz (Turbo)
1 Static IPv4

This is not exactly a promo plan as it can be ordered without a coupon code etc but well here goes,

VPS-128
Type : OpenVZ
128 MB RAM
20 GB HDD
200 GB Bandwidth

Order Link (OpenVZ) :
http://crowncloud.net/clients/order.php

LET Promo KVM-128
Type : OpenVZ
128 MB RAM
20 GB HDD
200 GB Bandwidth
All Linux OS's except Arch Linux (Until we find a working ISO) and Windows XP

Order Link (KVM) :
http://crowncloud.net/clients/order.php?o=AIDWXdhs

And NO ! that's not a ref link, its a order link which has only the KVM plans.

We offer support via Email and IRC.

Email : support[@]crowncloud.net
IRC : #CrownCloud on FreeNode

Do note : There is no panel with these VPS's for now, reboots can be done via SSH, reinstalls have to be done by us and are free :) for reinstalls email support[@]crowncloud.net

As you're not new here you should know that people are interested about things like location, test IP, etc...

btw. terrible, really terrible TOS. What about your obligations and customer rights?

If your VPS(s) receive any complaint (DMCA etc) from our network providers (Data Center) your VPS(s) will be terminated with no refund what so ever given.

    Just like that?

  • SpeedBusSpeedBus Member, Host Rep

@cnzhhi : Hmm I don't think there are any reviews around yet..

@Spirit : Yep there are a few things I gotta work on, just joined them :P
and Yes that line needs to be changed, It's really bad :/

Don't forget to add usual stuff including test file/IP.

Well, they've been providing other services too before that, since Feb 2012, and have been doing well :)

Do I get any points for being honest ? Pretty please ? :P

@Spirit I've started to do some clean up, just a basic one, starting with the DMCA one.

If your VPS(s) receive any complaint (DMCA etc) from our network providers (Data Center) your VPS(s) will be suspended and will only be unsuspended once you have promised to never repeat the incident again and if the incident is repeated again the VPS may be terminated without warning and with no refund.

Will be doing more work around to make things look better and cleaner :)

For some reason this reminded me of companies that only hire managers with management experience. If everyone did the same, there would be no managers...

Hmm I'm not exactly a manager, I'm doing community work for now, and will join them 100% (as in Tech support etc) once I've done some work around :)

  • @SpeedBus every DMCA notice doesn't mean by default that your client host authorized copyrighted material. Give them chance to respond, as most other hosts do, before you suspend them.

We'll be doing that, 48 hours respond time sounds good ?

  • Yes, this is reasonable.

I think this is good ? @Spirit Thanks for helping out :)

@serverbear That was on the Old HDD, Old Network, as far as the admin told me
    http://status.crowncloud.net/

    I'm running another test now.

EDIT : As far as I can see the new results are much better Network and I/O :) It's almost done :)

Hmm its getting stuck at the UnixBench : http://i.imgur.com/TEg0u.png

I'll run geekbench once this is done.

  • It'll stay on the Unixbench like that until it's completed :)

  • SpeedBusSpeedBus Member, Host Rep

    @serverbear : Oh Hmm I'll wait then :)

  • That benchmark from @serverbear is kinda bad, especially for the price point on OVZ.

How is the AMD FX processor holding up?

  • SpeedBusSpeedBus Member, Host Rep
    edited August 2012

@Damian : The processor is doing quiet well :) quiet snappy for now :) may upgrade to a AMD FX-8120 if needed :)

    and the new results :
    http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2012/08/11/fID5CpaFxAnIvapC

HDD results look bad, but when using shows no sign of slowdowns or anything like that :/

Well, as long as it holds good, we'll continue with that processor, the moment it starts to slow down, we will move to something better.
