Incredibly Fast UK SSD VPS - OnApp+Backups+KVM - 230K IOPS

Hi, I'm James Hadley, the owner and operator of VirtIO. My endeavour is simple: to provide a viable alternative VPS solution for anyone who needs a high-performance SSD VPS here in the UK.

I've created a customised configuration using the latest solid state drives to deliver up to 240K IOPS or around 1.5-2GB/s of disk IO for the most demanding applications. To put that into perspective, that's around 200x faster than a typical hard disk, and around 2-4x faster than a typical solid state drive.

VPSs are hosted on server-grade hardware with Intel Xeon E3 processors, DDR3 memory and fast, UK bandwidth. I have set up these servers using the KVM virtualisation software to enable full management, and OnApp control panel for complete autonomy. Daily backups to RAID6 NAS are included free of charge.

3GB SSD

It's all done automatically, so no need to worry about space or manual intervention. Every day a background daemon is constantly taking backups of VPSs to our offsite NAS. You can restore the backups yourself at the click of a button.

  • Only 3GB Disk? the os must be around half that.

It depends on the OS but generally you'll get a good 2GB to play with, which is enough for a few websites etc. Would love to be able to offer more but space on this server is pretty expensive!

This would be a nice offer for anyone who needs quality over quantity ;)

  • I haven't actually had a service from James, But have spoken to him before and he is a cool guy, And will not let you down.. He has give me some pretty useful advice and guidance in the past.

On a price/performance ratio this offer is a Great Deal, As you have support on a personal level with someone that gives a damn and for sure knows his stuff.

I agree with Jacob. And I did have a service from here to test a while back and it was rock solid, even in their "beta" period. James is certainly a cool guy, and nice to talk to and will certainly help you out if you get stuck ;)
