Though regardless of the result please bear in mind that our service is much different from the Digital Ocean's. DO has, as far as I know, local storage, so more IO but if the HV goes down you risk lengthy outage, while we have resilient storage replicated in the realtime, so the raw write (as read is local) speed is obviously not as excellent as with local storage, but you gain higher reliability and the option to recover you VM immediately after HV failure. It's a different kind of service.
With that said, we aim to release in Q4 '15 or Q1 '16 a new product with pure SSD local storage that's more comparable performance and price wise with DO like providers.
