Bear in mind many complain regarding their L7 'in-house' made protection.

Protected could be null-routing, I think you want DDOS mitigation/filtering
Any requirement on the actual level of filtering? We offer 20 - 40Gb/s TCP only in Seattle and 30Gb/s TCP + UDP in Dallas.
How much DDoS mitigation are you looking for?
SoYouStart is usually the Basic one. No control over it and no upstream filtering customisation.
Server mania offers that with some free protection.
We can do this without the HW RAID at our Lenoir facility, with L7 filtering.
