Dedicated 8GB 2TB @ 20USD
Hello helpful people,
I am looking for a dedicated server to satisfy two objectives:
1. Audio and Video encoding and streaming
2. For me to piss about and learn more about setting up my own VPS
Happy to change my spec if you think I am wrong, but I think I need:
- Core i5 CPU or better with 4cores for the Video Encoding part
- 8GB RAM (so I can try to launch a couple of VPSs to play about)
- 2TB storage
- 100Mbps guaranteed
I do not want to go over 20USD if possible. Kimsufi's KS3 fits the bill, but I am never in the right place in the right time to get it.
Do you have any pointers?

It's hard with that budget but dacentec just had $20 servers with 2x2TB (2 cores) for $20, there are still some X3440s with 2x2TB for $30 though.
Try the offers here or go for Hetzner machines.
Don't think the X3440 will handle encoding of multiple streams
One stream should be sufficient as it is not needed for real-time encoding. I encode offline and steam.
it might just manage it, i can get my G3258 @ 4.6Ghz to stream 4 without buffering.
