I read ToS and it includes a lot more stuff on the not allowed list. Is legal p2p/torrenting not allowed, then?

READ BEFORE YOU BUY! If you buy the 2.50$ server from Owned Network you will be charged with 60% extra each time you don't pay your invoice in time. Your invoice will become 4$ instead of 2.50$ if you don't pay your invoice in time.

From my experience only 1% of companies we work with (we work with over 100 companies) have this snake policy to take advantages of customers. It's very unfair and strange way of doing business in a industry with high level of competition.

Obviously Owned Network think they're the only VPS provider out there and a customer would stick with them despite being charged 4$ instead of 2.5$.

EDIT: They have stated in their TOS that they will add 15$ fee to re-enable accounts. Even though the cost to re-enable an account is 0.00$ they will still charge you 15$ according to their TOS.

The late fee is 20% or $1.5 and it's applied 3 days after the due date, that would be 13 days after getting the first notice of invoice. If for whatever reason you are unable to pay for the invoice on time we're more than willing to work with you; however, if a client sends a ticket demanding to have the fee removed and threatening to cancel all services if we don't, hmm, that typically won't get him far.

The fee to re-enable an account doesn't apply for a client that has other active services, we've never charged anyone anything to re-enable an account, however, if you do not have any active services and come back having unpaid invoices from previous services, those will need to be paid for.

  • 1.5$ extra fee on 2.5$ invoice is 60%. The "minimum" pre-phrasing can work on higher invoice, to a customer who has 2.5$ invoice you're charging 60% more.

I " threatened" to leave because I don't have 1 server I have 19 servers and I can't ensure that I won't forget to pay the invoice for some of them.

Besides why would I ask to "work with you" to do something that ALL other companies do (not charge you 60% on your 2.50$ invoice)? You're dime in a dozen. Would you go to a restaurant to ask not overcharge you if you don't pay your bill in time? Or would you just go to different restaurant?

Therefor it's pointless for me not to " threaten" you I will leave since your policy is aimed at earning 20%-60% extra money for doing NOTHING.

Besides you obviously don't care what client thinks and want and that your (skimming in my opinion) policy is below industry standard:

"We are not in the industry to do the same every other provider does, we go by what works for us and have been doing so for many years."

The statement above would be valid if you were not doing "what every other provider does" with the aim to improve client experience and your services. But in fact you're not doing "what every other provider does" with the goal to earn extra money for doing nothing on account of your customers.

This is a really bad example of how to earn money in a business and a really good example how to lose your customers.

Instead of defending yourself you can do what any other smart company would do, accept your customers feedback and learn from it or ask other people what they think, I'd certainly want to know what other people think of your policy.
