Are you asking for recommendations for a switch? If so, 24 or 48 ports and how much traffic will be going through it?
I'm not sure what you're asking...
I was recommended this switch
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Juniper-EX3300-24P-24-Port-10-100-1000BaseT-PoE-Switch-Standalone-Sealed-/171507290970?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27eea1935a
my office is on the topic if this switch can control the bandwith, create vlans.
etc

Thanks
You can get a Juniper EX3300 48P for $1,500 - $1,600 so wasting money on that switch is not worth it. It depends on how much Traffic you are pushing. a Cisco 2960G should be good enough and can be picked up at $160-220 on Ebay and you can drop in several 1Gbit ports. If you need a 10G option then the Juniper EX3300 48P is a great switch for the price.
It comes down to this - how much traffic are you going to be pushing in terms of Gbps and PPS. How many ACLs, filters, shaping will you want to apply.
How are you routing your traffic? How are your VLANs setup?
Cisco 2960G is a good cheap & cheerful switch. You're not going to be doing much filtering, ACLs at any real speed on it.
