resellers

ValdVald Member
edited March 2015 in Providers

I was browsing trough wjunction.com and i couldn't help but keep noticing how resellers are ripping people off.

http://www.viridweb.com/budget.php

is
http://servdiscount.com/

wjunction.com/9-dedicated/197426-x4w-servers-100mbps-%7C-14-%80-dedicated-servers-%7C-paypal-bitcoin.html

this guy/kiddo resells a fcking kimsufi

https://networkarray.com/dedicated.php
these guy resells many other INCLUDING online.net SC GEN2 for a fcking 26.45€

etc..

I have nothing personal against these providers but they rip off people and i hate it. This is why i never buy from a provider who doesnt own a data-center or owns the equipment and servers. I feel pity for the people who buy from them.

Just a rant.

    Indeed, together with you.

  • Just do some research before buying then. A lot of dedicated server providers do these sorts of things, because its easy enough to be somewhat cheap, provide half decent support and make a fairly decent proffit. If people buy from them, its their choice. Its not ripping people off.

I agree if there is an addition/gain on the service, but those kimsufi orders don't even have a website, he didn't even try.

I agree with that. It's up to customer to decide whether he wants to buy anything or no. The guys who are selling such servers are acting as so-called "middleman". So you are paying for the server + his time to be your support desk.

I havent opened the links, its just my general opinion. If someone is stupid enough to do no research and go for the first company they find, they generally will get stung, but thats their fault.

Exactly that. And I hear quite often that buying it through a middle man can work out a lot better for you if you need faster support or support 7 days a week because its quite often just something silly that they can fix without needing to contact the DC hosts and it means your not waiting 3 days over the weekend for a response.

Look at the middle man above, they even host porn on their ip's if you do a reverse lookup.

Our datacenter blabla one man show, most of these will go dead pool and wont even help you with migration.

As long as you are honest to your customers it is allright, otherwise its just a ripoff and lies.

I think a lot of it should come down to the customer though. If the customer cannot be bothered to ask for a couple of test IP's to look up and find it goes to OVH, then look at their services, then its more fool them.

  • I'm surprised there aren't any WSI resellers on LET. I've wanted to become one for a while, haven't found a means to cross their 2 x $69 threshold yet.

  • I think reselling is fine just aslong as there is added value such as free
    Licenses and or better support

With the difficulty of getting a SYS server these days, if he has it in stock then people will pay.

    Thats not hard with OVH...

  • Mate, for an entry level it is a perfect and legit situation.. Everybody wants to make their own business, and for people who start a new business this is the perfect situation. Now everybody has a lot of money as startup.. It is a new world and anybody wants a piece of pie.

Middle man won't be able to help you if there is hardware failure. Why pay extra?

    1) possible stock issues. middle man might have his hands on stock
    2) middle man might be providing additional services
    3) middle man might be a good salesman. kudos :D
