  • Maybe @MarkTurner has something for you... Not entirely sure if it would be Asia optimized.

Wholesale Internet is likely your closest option and that's central US, not Asia at all. Your requirements aren't very realistic.

  • This is a low cost dedicated server. Asia is a big place where in Asia are you located?

    Dual X5150, 16GB RAM, 500GB disk, 1 IPv4, /64 IPv6, 5TB Gigabit, dedicated ILO/KVM - $20/month

Prices based on quarterly, discounts are recurring.

  • Hello,

In India, its hardly possible to match that price. We have VPS available from $10 which you can find using the following link:

    http://cloudbells.com/cloud

Our dedicated plans starts from $49 pm

Yearly are however available from $400 per year.

@cloudbells It would be really fun if one day you want to explain us what's up with that APNIC farming :)

  • @Nyr APNIC farming?

  • NyrNyr Community Contributor, Veteran

    @cloudbells

    • VPS with 4x IPv4 for $10/year
    • Dedicated server with 2GB of RAM and a single HDD with 32x IPv4 by default

@cloudbells seems pretty... generous for APNIC IP space ;)

    • What virtualization is this?
    • Can you merge 2x 128MB's into one 256MB for $20/yr?

Think twice before buying anything from this @cloudbells guy. Known scammer and spammer hiding behind many brands.

This is him explaining how he deals with Spamhaus to a known ROKSO spammer:

Host Wiser: No, in the worst case if ISP contact us then we will change IPs but server will still be up. If you want the IPs to not change ever then I suggest you go for leased line
    Thor: wait
Thor: you wanna say if we get listed
Thor: need to change the ips immidiately?
    Host Wiser: No
Host Wiser: I am saying when you get listed and spamhaus goes weird and escallated to our upstream providers and they contact us then we will just change your IPs but your server would continue to remain up and running.
    Host Wiser: http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/listings/spectranet.com
Host Wiser: See, on our network there are not just one ISP but more. This one is immune to listings others might not be and we might have to change IPs multiple times
Host Wiser: If IPs are blacklisted and the ticket is escallated to our ISPs and they contact us then we will have to change IPs

    Some more info on WHT:

This is OpenVZ virtualization. We can upgrade your RAM to 256 Mb and total package would be for $20.

You can purchase the Mini Cloud and raise a ticket and we would invoice you for RAM upgrade.

    Thanks & Regards

This client was hosting bots and is a known scammer. Just google his WHT handle and you would know.

This is not the chat that happened. He purchased servers and then we terminated them due to massive complaints from Spamhaus and other watchdogs.

Can't speak to other things mentioned in the WHT threads, but if this is how @cloudbells deals with Spamhaus Blackmail Serviced Ltd, I like him already ;)

@cloudbells don't lie, you have a nice record with Spamhaus and are still hosting a different ROKSO spammer. You got half of your network listed at this very moment:

    http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/query/SBL243209
    http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/query/SBL241898
    http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/query/SBL241903

You also seem to provide "email marketing" behind a different brand!
    http://emailocean.com/ -> http://www.spamhaus.org/dbl/removal/record/emailocean.com

And what a surprise, your cloudbells.net domain!
    http://www.spamhaus.org/dbl/removal/record/cloudbells.net

It would be great if you get disconnected from the Internet sooner than later.

@aglodek I don't love Spamhaus either, but that's not the way a professional ISP deals with spam complaints.

You tailor your tactics to your adversary, in this case a well known and proven blackmail business operator (Spamhaus). This is the real world we live in. While I don't like spam, I don't subscribe to this religious fanaticism many people seem to exhibit. Fight spam, yes! Fight spammers at any cost to innocent third parties - no friggin way! I wish CC and ChicagoVPS exhibited @cloudbells' common sense and forked out clean IP's to their clients, myself included, caught in Spamhaus-CC's ongoing spat.

This may be sacrilidge to many here, but personally, I'll take known ROKSO spammers over known blackmailers carpetbombing innocent businesses anytime! Pretty easy for anyone, big or small alike, to defend against spam. Practically impossible to defend against blackmailers like Spamhaus!

@aglodek there is multitude of organizations dedicated to fighting spammers and like it or not, Spamhaus is one of the most effective at it.

No one forces you to trust their RBL, thankfully you have many. Anyway, the WHT thread is pretty clear about who they target, same as their "email ocean" brand (how original).

I wish CC and ChicagoVPS exhibited @cloudbells' common sense and forked out clean IP's to their clients

Rotating IPs and even networks for KNOWN spammers is not common sense for me.

Anyway, just so you know: if someone openly did that on a massive scale in the States, they would get disconnected by their upstreams. And CC doesn't have a problem exclusively with Spamhaus, they are regularly listed by SpamCop and Barracuda among other reliable RBLs, they are not poor innocents.

@Nyr said: there is multitude of organizations dedicated to fighting spammers and like it or not, Spamhaus is one of the most effective at it.

I never said that blackmail is not a very effective "policy". On the contrary, Spamhaus' effectiveness is matched only by their arrogance and lack of accountability for all the collateral damage they are responsible for every single day. Pointing a big gun at somebody and asking for their wallet usually works pretty well, too! Assuming you can get away with it, and Spamhaus - it seems - can!

And CC doesn't have a problem exclusively with Spamhaus, they are regularly listed by SpamCop and Barracuda among other reliable RBLs, they are not poor innocents.

Be that as it may, the IP's assigned to me were listed, as part of CC's larger block, only with Spamhaus out of 70+ blacklists.

And speaking of fighting spam: how about starting with a coherent definition and clear rules, equally applicable on a global scale? What we need here first is a WIO (World Internet Organization), I think.

EDIT: all this said, while I may not approve of their tactics, I can't help but be impressed with Spamhaus. I'm also grateful to CC for their inaction and the opportunity of experiencing Spamhaus's tactics first hand, thus gaining valuable insight into the complex subject matter of spam and fighting spam, as well as the LET community's take on this subject ;)
