Reliable provider thread #2

Hello,

I'd like all of you to share the names of server providers that you have been with for atleast 1 year with a overall positive experience.

I myself have been looking throughout the years for providers that wont ever let you down and out of many i've found 5 so far (ranked on position.)

  1. ecatel.net

  2. liteserver.nl

  3. securedragon.net

  4. seflow.it

  5. getkvm.com

I'm still searching for more providers where you could put a long-time commitment on.

What would your current list look like? feel free to share it with us!

keep in mind that everyone shares his list based on his own experience.

Thank you!

    Hetzner,
    Futurehosting,
    DigitalOcean,
    Linode,
    Ramnode.

In no particular order and not necessarily LET range. All very reliable, with excellent customer service to go with it.

I would caveat Hetzners customer service as likely to be different than perhaps most will experience due to the volume of equipment I have there.

  • I have forgot to mention that it is just not only about budget when it is about reliable providers.

I agree that they are good, but when you face issues, support is pretty slow.

I have this same experience! support may be slow at times but they do always come back with a good solution and go beyond their ways to get things done for you. what I personally find odd is that their support appears to be from russia origin while they are providing services in the netherlands - but still they do communicate fine in english and do whatever is necessary.

Is this a joke? When did that shit hole called Ecatel become reliable?

So? Those don't change the fact that they're reliable. And that's what this thread is about.

  • Iniz, Ramnode, ovh, buyvm & digitalocean are getting my business. So far no regrets, been with most of these for years. I tested a lot of providers and these I can vouch for. I hope Iniz stays reliable though, no signs for me so far to worry.

How can they be reliable when their main source of income is from criminals? They get lots of lawsuits. It's only a matter of time they'll get shut down just like Santrex.

Did you actually use their services before judging or what?

This thread is not about moralities.

Top 5 in alphabetical order (they're all good for different applications/locations): Linode, OVH*, RamNode, VaporNode*, Vultr

    * for dedicated server, haven't tried their VMs

I should've added Vultr to the list too, they've been very reliable to me so far.

  • I only have two providers on my list that I stayed with over a year (listed alphabetically).

    • Inception Hosting - not the fastest, but I trust the provider.
    • My Custom Hosting - was a little hesitant at the beginning, but time has proven a dependable provider. Not to mention a higher uptime than Byteshack.

So, the 1 year club would consist of:

    1) Inception Hosting

    2) Secure Dragon

    3) Ramnode

    4) WeLoveServers (I know people have complained about them, but I had a perfectly reliable service for an entire year)

    5) OVH

  • I know some of the following were already posted, but I can just agree:

    RamNode, DigitalOcean, OVH, VPSDime, Time4VPS.eu

Can't completely agree with HostHatch this far. Support was / is kind of slow for me, ul speed of my VPS is very low (tested with another server with dedicated 100MBit port which is nearly (by location) to the hh VPS) and got only stable 1,2MB/s multiple times, support says, there would be no issue.. Hmm.

You should keep away from FortaTrust / FortaCloud (everything just terrible, nothing more to say.), Server4You / unmetered.com (my dedi with them was down for multiple days, nearly a hole week. First the wrote, the HDD is nearly broken (I had to back it up by myself in rescue mode, they obviously weren't able to do that), then the motherboard was broken too. And it took 3 days afai remember until someone even answered to my ticket. For sure they didn't even recognized it by theirselfes that a server was down..) and I also didn't / don't have a good experience with Virtono.com. Debian based templates got major issues (debian 7.4 x64 doesn't even boot and with x86 and Ubuntu 14.04 x64 I weren't able to setup my blog with ssl using nginx (refused all connections to port 443. But port was open). Did exactly the same on a time4vps server - worked without any problem. The CPU Performance is.. Not really great but the network is OMG. Made the same mistake again yesterday and ordered a VDS from them in Dusseldorf (Germany). I live in Germany too, and sometimes the ping to it is even higher then to my t4vps server in Lithuania. The network speed is pretty unstable. Sometimes good, sometimes not.

    That's my part :p

In alphabetical order, the following are a few providers who I have had great service from and no major issues.

    • Amazon Web Services
    • DigitalOcean
    • Rackspace Cloud
    • Vultr

The first two house production services, and the others haven't been used "in anger" but just for development/testing environments, etc.

It must be said, however, I haven't used many of the providers here on LET/LEB mostly because I'm a cautious buyer: so the short list is not necessarily a reflection on the providers here!

Or the VanillaForums software was just a bit overwhelmed and didn't know what to do, so it just removed the clips.

  • @Nekki said:

    Ya know, sarCASm

  • Cant say as I have ever heard of any of the ones you did list, but Ramnode is a good one where we still even have a few VPS's for services we want to have running outside our network. Never managed to find a reason to fault them.

  • cassa said: Ya know, sarCASm

You might have been happy with them for all I know..

  • cheers guys, keep them coming, its nice to see non-leb vps provider name here

    gonna try some

Nah, the first thing I got when starting up a brand-new VPS was viruses

  • Got to say Ryan (@AutoSnipe) has been the best for me with nanovz.com. 99.9% uptime FOR 3€/year #1 provider

  • Liteservers.nl, I myself am a customer of them and they're quite good I'ld say.
