The paid plan of Office 365 is cheaper, but Google Apps is better.
The free version of Google Apps still can add secondary domain.

If you're just looking for a cheap alternative to email that allows you to add as many domains as you want, you should look at Zoho's paid options. The single mailbox option is something like $20/year I believe, but it allows you to add as many domains and aliases as you want.
Despite the changes, Google Apps would still be better.
The 2013 uptime article showed that Microsoft had more downtime than Google.

I'm not entirely sure about the results for this year though.
Office 365 works better for be due to the multiple seperate accounts and the additional software.
The desktop/mobile apps are just about acceptable.
Is this for email or actually using the apps (office, google docs)?
Office 365 had a massive outage this week due to the whole of azure network dying for over 6 hours. Meant a few major businesses couldn't get any work done as they lost access to everything for almost whole day; it started about 9am GMT, i.e. one of the worst times for it to hit.
Honestly until Microsoft fix the Azure servers I wouldn't touch Office 365.
I work for a nonprofit and both Google and Microsoft offer these services for free to nonprofits. I have 2 domains one on each service and actually think that Office365 is a better product. I have been a Gmail user since the beginning, and have my work domain on Google Apps right now, but have found my self using the secondary domains email on Office365 more lately because the interface just seems cleaner. If I were to need to purchase one of them I would go with Office365. There is more bang for the buck, in my opinion.
That link is about 151 days, not the whole year.
I mean you cannot really cherry-pick.
But, yeah, shit happens, Amazon has downtime too, I am not sure but for some people might have been more than Azure last year.
But, 98% is sad, some providers here have better uptime.
google apps is better.
Rackspace
Rackspace is amazing, but a bit expensive. But works really well.
