WTF greenvaluehost Pornographic Content prohibited starting November 16, 2014

Dear Clients,

Pornographic content of any kind including legal adult content in the United States shall be prohibited on all areas of the GreenValueHost network. Pornographic content not be stored in any way, shape, or form, on any GreenValueHost shared hosting service, virtual private server hosting service, or dedicated server hosting service.

Although we understand that the prohibition of pornographic content may raise controversial arguments, the management of GreenValueHost believes pornography to immoral and detrimental to human values, capable of causing users to be addicted and mentally ill.

Effective on November 16, 2014, any customer found to be hosting pornographic material on any GreenValueHost hosting service will be immediately suspended, pending additional acceptable use policy compliance checks and possible termination.

We apologize for the abrupt notice and for any inconveniences this may cause. If you have any questions, please contact us via our helpdesk.

Thank you,

GreenValueHost

Within their rights. Would be polite to refund anyone on packages that overlap the policy change of course.

I agree with GVH management and have seen how pornography can destroy lives and families. I commend them on their brave decision.

I agree it is their right, I also agree a refund should be given to anyone asking it due to terms change.
The old argument of porn is legal and should be allowed does not stand in this case, because it is not a human right, nor a discrimination, BUT, I strongly disagree banning porn or pretending "we dont do that filthy thing" is a good thing.
After all, lack of porn creates monsters. Gruesome rapes and murders are much more common in places without easily accessible porn, such as rural areas if we consider average per capita. As encouraging abstinence instead of easily available contraception never works to prevent teenage pregnancy, same with banning porn, I always thought that people banning the drugs are accessories to murder in each case addicts kill people for 10$ and each gang war consequences. The whole political class is guilty in Mexico, US, Colombia, they have blood on their hands. Same for the places where porn is illegal or hard to get.

They can allow whatever they want on their network, but that second paragraph wasn't needed.

    oversold. is the key point

  • I am just going to ignore this.

    breathe slowly

    breathe slowly

    Urgh.

  • Well it maybe because John may be undersage and if he checks a website that has porn on it ...... But my guess is with others saying its eating alll there bandwidth and disk space. And they need to reduce more servers so the only way to kick customers is to get them to leave.

  • "This new policy was written by a considerably larger right arm"...

Up to them what they do with their business. I don't think the uptime/connectivity of their servers qualifies them as a functional web host anyway.

well it's their right. I believe Jon must be living in a mountain, have never seen a girl and/or not going to get married. Can't keep laughing what this kid is doing

    He does seem undersage, indeed.

  • Well whatever, but porn is certainly far less immoral than running a such shit company as GVH.

  • it's a fair policy.

    So,

    @mpkossen , @chief , @sysadmin ;

Since they're kinda... banned, and banned from all offers, can this go away too?

@OP ; We allow legal adult content to be hosted, if you're interested in a price match / refugee offer.

I am throwing down a challenge to everyone on LET!!!
