WHMCS Must do this....

Hi LET,

I am thinking that WHMCS should do this...

They must offer ONETIME Licence once a Monthly payer reaches the amount of ONETIME or bit higher which they may decide for a single licence.

As the term Lease means that once a payment is received in FULL then the item will be owned by the payer in installment.

Anyway am i wrong in any points?

Thanks

You are leasing the licence to access the software updates, if you buy licence outright you only get x months of updates.

I can lease a car on holiday, it doesn't mean I can keep it and take it home after my first weeks payment.

This will however get interesting as you are taking lease in a literal sense of the word, I do think rental would be a better choice.

  • To answer your question no they have no obligation to do this.

  • @wych

I didnt mean that you to keep the car home after first week payment.

I just meant that they would not charge the clients or maybe offer as a option without updates to offer the onetime licence after the monthly payment matches the onetime fees.

  • Maybe on my math...

    A Unbranded licence is...

$15.95 rate at whmcs its about 16 months of payment (1 year and 4 months). Its bit less .

Anyway they may charge a extra $49.99/year for support therafter as well which is about bit $4/month.

    Well, which is it?

    Yes.

There are two models: owned + pay annual support, or leased. Pick one. Don't whine.

Personally I'd love to see WHMCS drop monthly/leased licenses entirely, and only offer $250 + $49.99/year. That would help filter out summer hosts.

Ya maybe right. But if in the term of Lease and if they offer this it may be a installment plan to get a OneTime plan other than just paying Monthly...

I chose not to in this instance as we're not talking about actual Nazism.

As WHMCS grows with more and more features, the upkeep costs go up.

  • WHMCS would NEVER do that, why? they are greedy look at their distro program, they closed that just to make more money.
