Anyone with datashack

I'm looking at their phenom 2x4 840 plan. I've heard that they had packet loss. Is it still ongoing

Really depends on what you will do on the node. Packet Loss may not always be an issue for everyone.

BTW: When you open a ticket with them about the packet loss, they will reply "Our Engineers are attempting to find a solution, there is no ETA" So basically i use them for my minecraft server and in 3 months of service, the packet loss did not end. Though packet loss at that extent is not a big issue for me.

If you're looking for budget nodes: I suggest online.net - good network, support is a bit slow & good hardware generally.

Datashack seem to have quite a few issues with their existing network. :(

Nope it's fine no problems with my server with them.

  • Thank you all for your precious suggestions. I ended up with something from dacentec.

Their support is awsome. I get reply from them in minutes and it applies 24/

Do you have the $25 server? might be isolated to the budget servers..

I have a higher spec server with WSI and network is fine, not sure if it's in the same DC with DS or not.

No i have a more expensive Dual 5520 server.

  • wychwych Member

@shovenose - How easy can you get IP from DS? Was looking at a box but a few other members hinted they don't like to give out IP.

    I've had no problems.

  • Anyone ever taken a meal?

I am sick of these threads "Anyone with OVH?", "Anyone with Ramnode?", "Anyone with DataShack?" "Anyone with DO?" etc

It is just common sense that there would be lot of people with such popular hosts.

I think they are more looking to find someone that has one for information rather than a general poll kind of scenario.

You'd be surprised how user views and feedback can vary between use case.
